Chapter 204
Jerome thought he had dialed the wrong number when he heard Mikayla’s coquettish voice.
He checked the phone number called, and it was Mikayla’s number.
However, she had been acting cold toward him recently. So her sudden passionate act most likely meant that she encountered some trouble that she urgently needed to get out of.
“Where are you now?” Jerome asked.
Mikayla told him the location of the restaurant.
Jerome didn’t ask who she was with or why she was there. Instead, he simply said,
I’ll come pick you up.”
After ending the call, Mikayla felt relieved.
Dealing with Irene and Taylor was too troublesome. She didn’t want to get involved.
in their love affairs.
So, Jerome’s call came at just the right time.
“Ms. Sullivan, I can’t teach you anything,” Mikayla said earnestly. “What I told you was the truth. Taylor doesn’t like me, and he won’t ever like me. You’re young, beautiful, and you came from a good family. You don’t need to be too hung up on him,” Mikayla
added.
She was hoping Irene could stop being such a hopeless romantic.
She could accomplish so much in her life, so it would be foolish to revolve her life
around a man. And doing so won’t earn her Taylor’s love.
But Mikayla’s well–intended advice didn’t earn any gratitude from Irene. Irene was under the impression that Mikayla was never going to help her.
“Ms. Davidson, I know what I’m doing. I don’t need you to lecture me,” Irene said annoyedly. “I sincerely asked for your advice, but you’re not being helpful at all!
“I won’t give up on Taylor. Mr. Blue made it clear that I’m the only one who can be his daughter–in–law. No other women can enter the Blue family.”
Mikayla sighed softly. She had said something similar before to Kylie.
Though back then she did it under the protection of Grandma. It never achieved
anything other than to deceive herself.
Mikayla didn’t try to persuade further.
“Then I wish you success in achieving your wishes. My husband is almost here. I shall leave first,” Mikayla said.
As she headed toward the courtyard, Taylor chased after her and blocked her path.
“You haven’t even driven her away yet, why are you leaving yourself?” he questioned.
Mikayla glared coldly at him. “Jerome is coming to pick me up. If you’re upset about it, why don’t you get into another car accident with him, or maybe even fight it out.
I’m not obligated to satisfy you or help you with these things!
“Besides, Ms. Sullivan is a good girl. If you really dislike her, you should make it clear
to both families. Stop giving her false hope and making it difficult for her to let go.”
Hearing her words, a wicked smile crept onto Taylor’s lips. “Okay.”
Before Mikayla could understand what he meant, Taylor suddenly took her hand and
pleaded, “Can you not leave? Please? She’s not my fiancée. It was a decision made.
by our families. I wasn’t even present that day.”
