Chapter 202
Gordon’s mouth had gone dry. He couldn’t even form a sentence.
That was not 80 thousand dollars. It was eight hundred thousand dollars.
Gordon believed Gerard could not even provide such a large sum of money.
Carlisle knew Gordon would be startled.

So, he explained earnestly. “I’ve never lied to you. I said I would get into Riverland University. Did I not get
accepted?”
Gordon’s throat went dry. He shakily poured himself some water to drink.
“Gordon, are we really not going to Sentaur Molding Factory for work?”
At this moment, Hilda happened to enter the house with washed clothes. The sight of Gordon’s trembling hands led her to believe that something was wrong with his health.
Terrified, she dropped the basin of clothes on the floor.
“Gordon, what happened to you?”
“Dad, I have some work. I’ve legally earned that money. Go ahead and splurge it to your heart’s content!”
Carlisle had heard Hilda’s voice and was worried she would start interrogating him again. He hurriedly
hung up the phone.
Hilda asked worriedly, “There’s nothing wrong with your hand, right?”
Gordon shook his head. Then, he showed the account balance displayed on his phone to Hilda.
“This… This is…”
Hilda stared at the long line of digits with an open mouth. Then, she snatched the phone and began counting the numbers.
“One, two, three, four, five, six… My goodness, a hundred thousand dollars? Where did the money come
from?”
Hilda stared daggers at Gordon, finally understanding the reason behind his shaky hands.
“Our son transferred the money!”
Concern was written all over Gordon’s face. He began conveying Carlisle’s words to Hilda.
After listening to his explanation, she asked with a steely gaze, “Do you believe him?”
Firstly, Carlisle managed to earn tens of thousands from selling game equipment through a stroke of luck. Now, he managed to earn eight hundred thousand dollars through a fortunate find.
Hilda wondered if Carlisle had all the luck in the world.

Gordon subconsciously shook his head.
Yet within the next second, he said firmly, ‘I believe our son!”
As Carlisle once said, a father and son must have a basic foundation of trust.
Hilda sat on the couch in a daze. She looked down and sighed.
“I hope I’ve been overthinking then!”

Meanwhile, immediately after Lethan returned to Warbane Mansion, he contacted Shania.
Tea, coffee, and fruits were served on the table in the mansion’s garden.
Shania wore an elegant and stylish purple long dress that day. Beside her sat a refined man wearing glasses. Nathan Olson was her deskmate in high school, who sometimes went by the nickname of Nate.
After graduating from college, Nathan opened a winery with the help of his family. He was currently a
billionaire.
Nathan lifted the cup and sipped it before saying, “I can invest two hundred million!”
His words made Lethan and Shania stare at him in shock.
Lethan had already explained to Shania and Nathan that Carlisle had sought him out to invest in building greenhouse aquaculture for the fishery.
Even Shania was still hesitant about the matter. No one had expected Nathan to agree first.
“Nate, aren’t you being too hasty? I have not even made up my mind yet!” Shania said while putting down
the coffee in her hand.
