Wil He Thow Her Away Like Traste
A young Liam fell into depression when his mother passed away.
Then came the affair with Deborah.
Both brothers fell in love with the same woman, and their relationship went from bad to worse.
Deborah’s death seven years ago was the direct cause of the brother’s falling out.
They were at each other’s throats ever since.
Kai took in Kira’s pale face and sighed inwardly.
The only reason Liam approached Kira was to get to Austyn.
And he’d almost succeeded.
What man could stand watching his wife getting kissed by another man?
It was worse for Austyn, because he knew what Liam was capable of.
Deborah had been Austyn’s girlfriend, but Liam stole her away.
Now he was trying to do the same to Kira.
Kai wanted to ask Kira about Liam–how they knew each other, how she felt about him, and what she planned to do now that she knew the man was Austyn’s enemy.
But he held off, seeing, Kira was not in a state to be grilled.
“You should get some rest, Young Madam. I’ll see myself out.‘
Kai headed for the door.
“Wait.”
“Yes?”
Kira gripped the blanket. ‘Did…did he see Liam kissing me?”
Kai stopped.
Turning back to face her, he said, ‘Yes.‘
When Kira and Liam entered the restaurant, he and Boss were sitting in the Hummer parked across the street.
They saw everything
It was the kiss that drove Austyn over the edge.
‘Young Madam, Boss hates Liam with a passion. He doesn’t see the man as a brother. Instead, he-
‘Instead, he will throw away everything that Liam has touched?‘
That was what Austyn had said in the restaurant.
Detecting the hint of bitterness in her voice, Kai tried to defend his boss. ‘Young Madam, you’re not just Kira Hewitt. You’re Mrs McCarthy, Boss‘ wife. You shouldn’t have gone out with a man behind his back.‘
Kira scoffed. ‘Since you brought up the marriage–Austyn’s a married man, so why does he keep fooling around with other women? Plural, as in, more than one woman.‘
Kai opened his mouth, but he had no answer.
‘If he can sleep with other women, Kira raised her voice, ‘why can’t I go out with other men?”
‘But, uh, it’s not… Kai stammered. ‘It’s not, er, the same. Boss is a man…”
‘So men can do whatever they want, is that what you’re saying?”
Wide Throw Her Away Like Tracht
Kira wanted to cross her arms, but her right shoulder hurt too much.
So she opted for a glare.
“And women just have to put up with their husbands‘ affairs and turn a blind eye?”
Kai stood there with his mouth hanging open.
He struggled for a response.
After a long time, he said, ‘Young Madam, does that mean you went out with Liam on purpose? To get back at Boss for those rumours of his, uh, affairs?”
Kira frowned. ‘I didn’t say that.‘
‘But it kind of sounds like that’s what you meant…”
Kira shook her head, suddenly overcome with fatigue
What was the point of arguing with Kai?
He took his cues from Austyn, whose attitude towards her couldn’t have been made clearer in the car.
The way Austyn looked at her was worse than how he would look at a stranger.
He sat as far away from Kira as possible and refused to let her touch him as if she was the plague.
Before she fainted, she tried to explain to him that there was nothing between her and Liam.
That the kiss was not consensual.
But now that she thought about it, an explanation was pointless.
Austyn saw everything.
If he insisted on blaming her, he wasn’t going to be talked around by just a few words from her..
“I’m tired, Kai. I would like to sleep now.”
She pulled the quilt over her face.
Kai let out a quiet sigh.
He turned off the lights in the room and closed the door gently.
Hands Off Kira Hewitt
Kira couldn’t sleep because of the pain.
But the physical pain in her arm was nothing compared to the agony in her heart.
Austyn’s cold eyes kept flashing through her mind.
She had never seen him like this before.
She couldn’t help but feel afraid.
Afraid of what he might do to her.
But if he saw everything in the restaurant, then he knew it wasn’t her fault.
She had not done anything to lead Liam on.
And it was just one kiss.
So why did Austyn act as if he’d caught her and Liam in bed?
Kai headed straight for the underground carpark
It was quiet as a graveyard.
The Hummer’s driver–side window was down.
Wisps of blue smoke floated out and rose in the air.
‘Boss, Young Madam just woke up. She seems to feel fine other than a pain in her right arm.”
Austyn didn’t reply.
Kai stood still as a statue.
When the cigarette almost burned to its end, Austyn spoke. ‘Did she say anything?”
Kai shook his head. ‘She just asked about her injury.”
If Boss knew what Kira said in the ward just now, he would fly into another rage.
Kai decided that least said, soonest mended.
Austyn’s eyes were bloodshot.
He lit another cigarette.
‘You can go home now. I want to be alone.”
But B
Boss…”
‘Get lost!‘ Austyn growled.
Kai stepped back, raising both palms. ‘Okay, okay.”
He started walking away.
A few steps later, he turned back.
More smoke curled up from the open window.
The carpark was deserted.
Boss was all alone.
Kai sighed.
But there was nothing he could do.
The glass coffee table turned over with a loud crash.
Everything on it fell, shattering into pieces.
Liam looked for something else to kick at.
Charles stood on the threshold, hesitating.
He gestured for the doctor to wait.
When Liam calmed down somewhat, Charles approached slowly.
“Young Master, please let the doctor have a look at your injuries.”
Liam sat on the sofa, breathing heavily.
His characteristic smile was gone from his face, replaced with a dark, smouldering look
The doctor took a tentative step forward.
He did a quick yet thorough examination.
The knife had grazed Liam’s arm.
Luckily, it wasn’t a deep cut.
Other than that, the rest were bruises that would go away in a few days.
The doctor gave a prescription to Charles and swiftly took his leave.
The door opened, shut, and opened again soon afterwards.
‘What’s going on? I heard a loud noise.”
Sean came into the room without knocking.
He saw the blood on Liam’s lips and the wreck in the room.
