Kira chided herself. 

She should have known better than to expect anything else from the actress. 

But she also felt a smidgen of pity for Kayleigh. 

Kayleigh Woods was drop–dead gorgeous and had millions of fans. 

If she focused on her career and put in the effort to polish her acting skills, she could have made her mark in showbiz. 

Instead, she spent her time plotting to win Austyn’s heart and scheming to hurt any woman who got near him. 

Kira didn’t know what Austyn did or said to Kayleigh to drive her into this state, but the actress now looked practically deranged. 

‘Kira Hewitt, go to hell!‘ 

Kayleigh’s vicious curse drew a frown from Kira. 

The actress was really losing her mind. 

Kira picked up her pace. 

Suddenly, a hand clamped around her neck and a wet rag was pressed over her mouth and nose. 

Kira opened her mouth to scream but inhaled a pungent scent. 

Then Two Of Them! 

The hallway spun in front of her eyes. 

She struggled, but the hand was strong and she felt strength draining out of her. 

‘Help!‘ Her voice was muffled. 

The hand pressed down harder. 

Kira was suffocating. 

She knew the rag must be doused in some kind of chemical that was making her dizzy, but she 

couldn’t hold her breath forever. 

‘Stop moving!‘ A man’s voice growled next to her ear. 

‘Hey! Let go of her!‘ 

A woman with a familiar face rushed towards Kira. 

Then Kira passed out. 

Sean held up Kira’s limp body.. 

He threw a confused glance at the woman running towards him. ‘What the hell? There’s two of them?‘ 

He stared at Kayleigh. ‘What’s going on? Which one’s Austyn’s wife?‘ 

Kayleigh was just as confused. ‘I…I don’t…‘ 

‘Doesn’t matter. I’ll just grab them.” Sean tilted his chin towards the newcomer. ‘Get her.‘ 

Gwen pulled up short at the sight of two men barrelling towards her. 

She’d jumped out when she saw Kira getting attacked, thinking she could scare off the man. 

But there were three of them! 

Gwen spun around and ran.. 

‘Get her!‘ Sean barked. 

‘Help!‘ Gwen shouted at the top of her lungs. 

The passageway led to a kitchen. 

There must be people in there who could hear her. 

But before help arrived, Gwen was knocked out by a heavy blow to the back of her head. 

She collapsed to the floor. 

‘Boss, what now?‘ Ronald had Gwen by her arm.
