Kira rolled down and dropped onto the cushion. 

‘Ow!” she sat up on the sofa

“What did you do that for? She glared at him.

He saw through her little trick. 

Kira drew up her knees under her chin. “Elle, your young master is bullying me.” 

Elsie came to her rescue. ‘Young Master, why can’t you be nicer to Young Madam? You could have let her down gently.‘ Kira nodded

Her phone rang again.

‘Answer it,” Austyn said. 

Kira stared at the table.

Austyn’s eyes bore into her.

She thought Gideon was going to say he would call later.

She tried not to look at Austyn’s dark face. ‘Why are you calling?”

Anything she said was only going to add more fuel to the fire that was already raging in Austyn’s heart. 

She held her tongue. 

Gideon waited. 

When she didn’t reply, he said, “You said you would bring me soup every day. I waited for hours, but you never came. I was wondering if something happened.”

Kira was exasperated.
