A rather beautiful one.
Slim, pale–skinned, and standing there with a curious look on her face.
She had a beauty
beauty mark under the corner of her left eye.
The fine gossamer fabric of her white dress clung to her skin.
Kira thought she looked familiar, but couldn’t recall where she had seen the face before.
The woman was maybe about five or six years older than Kira.
She was standing behind the bench, clutching a plastic shopping bag in one hand and waiting for an answer.
Kira pointed to the actor who’d just headed into the lobby.
She whispered, ‘See that man over there?”
“Uh–huh
‘Do you know who he is?”
“No.”
Kira covered her mouth with a
with one hand. ‘He’s an actor. Did you watch ‘Love At First Date?”
“No. What’s that?”
“It’s a romance drama. Good–looking actors, lousy plot. Anyway, he’s the male lead. The show’s all the rage recently. You really haven’t heard of it?”
The woman shook her head. I’ve been living overseas and have just come back. I’m not familiar with local celebrities.” Oh, I see.
‘I’ve been watching you for quite a while. What are you doing here all by yourself? With a camera?”

Kira darted her eyes around.
The woman looked like a resident here.
Maybe Kira could enlist her help in getting into the building.
She patted the black canvas bag on the bench. ‘See the equipment? I’m a reporter. Here to do a story on the private lives of celebrities
‘You mean you’re a paparazzo‘
“Tomayto, tomahto.” Kira waved a hand dismissively.
She leaned in and whispered conspiratorially, “Miss, have you seen Kayleigh Woods, the actress? I’m willing to offer good money if you can tell me things about her.”
The woman froze.
After a while, she shook her head and smiled. ‘Sorry, I don’t know who that is.”
Kira slapped a palm to her forehead.
Right, she forgot.
The woman had just
ist returned from overseas.
But Kira was unwilling to let such a good opportunity slip through her fingers.
The woman could be her source.
‘Do you live here?‘
“That’s good.
‘Connelly,” she said with a smile that Kira couldn’t quite understand.
‘Miss Connelly, nice to meet you. Please take a seat.”
Kira patted a spot on the bench next to her.
Connelly besitated.
‘Come on. I just want to have a chat with you.!
Kira took out her phone. I just want to show you the photo of Kayleigh Woods.”
She showed her phone screen to the woman.
“This is her. Maybe she won’t look as glamorous in real life as in this shot, without the makeup and the nice dress, but you get the general idea. If you see her, could you call me? I’ll pay. ‘
Connelly seemed to think it over.
She nodded Olcay.”
Kira was overjoyed. ‘Here’s my phone number. I’m Kira Hewitt, by the way.”
At least she’d accomplished something on this trip.
Her mind at ease now, Kira chatted with her new acquaintance. ‘Miss Connelly, you’ve just returned from overseas?‘ ‘Yes.’
‘How does it feel to be back? Are you adjusting to life here?”
‘It’s fine ‘Connelly smiled. As long as you’re with the person you love, it doesn’t matter where you live.”
“Wow, that’s profound.’ Kira thought she understood what the woman meant. ‘You’re married?”
“No. I used to be engaged, though. But he’s with another woman now.
