Different from the minty cologne Austyn wore. 

She was jolted back to reality. 

Liam’s lips almost touched her check. 

She shoved han back 

“I know what you’re doing! And it’s not going to work!” 

“Oh? Liam leaned back in his seat. “What am I doing? I’m just opening your eyes to the truth.”

“You’re trying to drive a wedge between me and Austyn, like you tried to do in the past! 

Liam tilted his head 

The familiar insouciant smile was back on his face. If the two of you really have such a strong bond like you claim, nothing I say will make a difference. Unless, of course, you were just bluffing. 

Kira shot him a venomous look. “Whatever happens between me and Austyn is none of your business! Gossip and slander will take you straight to hel!!!

I’m headed there anyway. Liam shrugged indifferently. “Might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb, right?” 

He noticed Kira’s quivering lips. ‘But I’m not wrong. Austyn’s not someone you can handle. You’re no match for him. Staying with him will only end with you getting hurt. And I don’t want to see that happen.” 

“It’s my choice to stay with him,‘ Kira shot back. ‘I’ll take whatever consequence that comes my way. You don’t get a say in this!‘ Kira pushed open the door and got out, 

She was so mad that she wanted to punch stuff 

She straightened up and glared down at Liam. “You saved me. For that, I’m grateful I thought I was wrong about you before. I thought, despite the things you’ve done, you’re still a good person at heart. But I was wrong again! You have a twisted mind. You are incapable of forgiveness and compassion. I can’t believe I ever felt sorry for you‘ 

Kira stomped off. 

Liar stared at her retreating back 

The scent of her coconut shampoo lingered in the car. 

The anger in his chest was boiling over 

Kira’s look of disdain ranked him. 

She accused him of having a twisted mind, called him a bad person. 

Did she think he wanted that? 

She said he was incapable of forgiveness and compassion 

But how could he know how to forgive when no one taught him? 

How could he treat others with compassion when all he ever knew was neglect and indifference?
