Put The Orpins To Better Use 

Austin’s face was deed of all colour. 

Henry gave him a cruel smile. You know exactly what I mean. 

A terrifying possibility occured to Austyn in a flash. 

He fumbled for his phone with trembling hands, but he couldn’t find it. 

Henry knew what he was thinking. ‘Don’t bother to call the hospital. I got Leland Hewitt transferred here at the same time as Charlotte. They should be cutting open his chest night about now.‘ 

Ideally, the heart should be implanted into the recipient within four hours of being harvested, and for the liver, twelve hours. 

Austyn swared on his feet. ‘What.what did you say?” 

Henry continued in his nonchalant tone. “He’s just a vegetable. Probably will remain so for the rest of his life. It’s not like he’s going to be needing those organs. He should be glad they are being put to better use.! 

He looked up at his son. ‘After all, isn’t that why you approached the Hewitts in the first place?! 

shut up, shut up. shut up!‘Austyn couldn’t bear to listen to him anymore. 

He shoved the nearest bodyguard away and pushed his way through the throng of bodies. 

But Henry had come prepared. 

He brought a team of twelve armed guards. 

With a slight flick of his wrist, all twelve surrounded Austyn in an instant. 

Move the luck out of my way! Austyn roared like a caged beast. 

The operating theatre was less than ten metres away. 

Kira’s father must be lying on an operating table right now, being cut open like a medical specimen. 

Austyn couldn’t breathe. 

He whipped out the Glock 13. ‘Move!‘ 

The guards did not budge. 

Henry scowled. ‘It’s too late to stop the surgery now. If you barge in there, all you’ll accomplish is hurting your mother. 

Charlotte was put under general anaesthetic. 

Her chest was cut open and her own heart removed. 

Meshile, she was hooked up to a heart–lung bypass machine to keep her bloodcimulating and to pump oxygen into it. 

It would take an incredible amount of delicate work to put in the donor heart and connect it to the main arteries and veins. Dr Lister, the chief surgeon, made it absolutely clear that they were not to be disturbed. 

Such a triple organ transplant had only ever been attempted once before. 

There was no guarantee that it would work. 

“Besides,” Henry added, “The Hewitt man’s already dead. There’s nothing you can do.” 

Leland was dead 

The words struck Austyn with the full force of a ten–tone Truck 

He sank to the floor. 

Henry dismissed the guards and returned to his tablet. 

He had deals to close and business partners to talkto 

Henry wasn’t impressed when Gideon durer came to him with the proposal, 

But the Garnet man made one good point–Austyn could be trouble.
