Bedmates Soulmates novel Chapter 72

She’s Not My Sister

With a roar, Kira grabbed the nearest thing she could finda teacup, and flung it at Georgina

Fuck!Georgina ducked, almost twisting her ankle. Bitch! What are you doing?”

The teacup landed on the floor, shattered to pieces

Georgina, red in the face, stepped around the hospital bed and aimed straight for Kira

She’d tossed the fan aside

Her right hand was raised, ready to slap her halfsister

Kira sidestepped out of her range

She regretted throwing the cup

Not because of Georgina

The hospital bed was between her and Georgina

What if the cup had landed on her father

Despite the rage surging through her heart, Kira clenched her fists and resisted the urge to punch out

It was her father’s room

She didn’t want to make a scene here

But Georgina had no such concern

When her first attack failed, she growled and kicked out at Kira

Her stiletto heel stuck Kira on the left calf

Ow

Kira’s knees almost gave out at the sharp stab of pain

Georgina grabbed Kira’s hair, hauled her head up and slapped her hard on the face

Kira saw red

She raised her arm and hit back

Bitch!Georgina screamed

That’s enough!Helen shouted

She had been sitting down when Kira came in

Now she stood up, took two quick strides toward Georgina and pulled her daughter behind her, like a protective mother hen

Georgina stuck out her tongue at Kira

Kira’s hand was still poised in the air

What? Helen crossed her arms and glared at Kira. Are you going to slap your own mother after your attacked your elder sister?”

Kira froze

Helen’s words stung more than the physical attack

The woman stood by and watched when Georgina kicked and then smacked Kira

Now she was pinning the blame on Kira

Kira ignored the pounding pain in her heart

She put down her arm slowly

Elder sister?she snickered. ‘My father only has one daughter. Are you admitting you cheated on him and gave birth to this bastard child while

u were still married to him?‘

How dare you!Helen hissed

Her face had gone pale

Kira Hewitt, shut your trap!Georgina snarled. She is your mother! How dare you take that tone with her!”

She stepped around Helen and lunged at Kira. I’ll tear off that mouth of yours if you don’t know how to use it properly!”

Helen turned her face away, pretending she didn’t see her daughter was about to assault her other daughter-

Georgina was half a head taller than Kira, and she was wearing fiveinch heels

Kira’s arms and shoulders were still sore from a night spent on the cramped cot

And she was feeling lightheaded without breakfast

She shielded her head from the flurry of fists as Georgina rained blows on her

Her arms were bruised and hurting

Irritated, Georgina unclenched her fists

She made her right hand into a claw and was going to scratch Kira’s face with her long, sharp nails. Try and dodge this!”

But her hand didn’t reach its target

An impossibly strong force gripped her wrist and stopped her midmotion, before yanking her backwards

You touch her again, I’ll break your wrists.”

A man’s glacial voice startled everyone in the ward

Kira recognised the familiar masculine scent

Austyn

He was standing beside her, their shoulders almost touching

Kira looked up and saw his sharpfeatured face

His Jaw was clenched

He still had his hand clamped around Georgina’s wrist

Her face was a mask of pain

Mom, help! Georgina screamed

Let go of my daughter! Helen sprang into action

She tried to push the man away

He didn’t budge

Let go!”

Let go!Helen bared her teeth

She was going to bite on his hand when Austyn struck out

He drove one foot into Helen’s knee

Helen’s knees buckled

She grasped at the bedside table to save herself from falling

Mom!Georgina shrieked

The pain had radiated from her wrist to the rest of her arm

Her face was sheet white

Helen managed to pull herself up

She glowered at the man who just barged into the room and attacked her and her daughter

Who the bell was he

Austyn held her gaze

Helen read from those black, fathomless eyes a murderous intent

She looked away quickly, as if scalded

Helen had seen people from all walks of life

She considered herself a pretty good judge of character

Right now, she judged herself to be in the presence of a predator

Her back was drenched in sweat

Sir, please let go of my daughter.”

Helen kept her eyes trained on her daughter’s wrist, still shackled to the man’s strong hand
