Begging the Divorced Heiresses Back novel Chapter 26

Tina’s POV:

Soon, me and my mother arrived at the Cater mansion.

It was located on a mountain near the coast.

Although the mansion is old, it was one of the most expensive estates in X City.

Even though the Cater family had countless properties all over the world, Old Mrs. Cater always lived in the old mansion.

During the holiday, Evan also comes back here to live with his grandmother.

We drove along the mountain, slowly getting into the lush greenery. Even the oxygen here was abundant and clean.

X city was a very busy city, and the air pollution was also serious. Nevertheless, this place is like an isolated fairyland.

As we reached at the gate, a handsome young guard stopped the car and asked warily, “What are you business here?”

My mother rolled down the window hastily and said with a smile, “It’s me. I just got off the phone with your butler. I have an appointment with Old Mrs. Cater at ten o’clock!”

“Oh, you must me Mrs. Walter,” the young guard said as he opened the door.

Then, our car went through two more gates.

Finally, after driving for more than ten minutes, we arrived at the front yard of the villa.

There Old Mrs. Cater ( Grace) butler, Jones is already waiting for us. Seeing us coming, he greeted, “Greetings, Mrs. Walter, Miss Walter.”

He wore a neat tall coat and gold-rimmed glasses and looked polite and meticulous. He had been working here for over 30 years, and he was Grace’s most trusted servant.

“Oh, dear, this place is huge! It’s several times bigger than our house,” My mother said.

I nodded. Even though I am also a young lady, I still couldn’t help but be amazed by the splendid mansion.

Ten minutes later, the butler took us into the living room.

As I looked around the living room, my eyes widened. The living room was more like a banquet hall. It was large enough to hold a party for hundreds of people.

As I was looking around, my eyes fell on the old lady, Grace Cater, who was sitting on the sofa, with a white can in her hands. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses was placed on her nose and she was wearing a gown with a silk shawl on her shoulder.

Looking at her noble and dignified figure, one could tell that she was a beauty when she was young.

“So nice to meet you, Mrs. Cater! It’s been a long time!” Smiling obsequiously, my mother approached her to shake her hand.

However, Grace just sat there without even looking at her. It seemed as if she had no interest in shaking hands with my mother.

“Yeah, it has. Now, please, be seated,” Grace said indifferently.

Smiling awkwardly, my mother quickly took out the gift she bought and handed it over. “Here, this is our gift for you, Mrs. Carter. A small token of our appreciation. Please, take it.”

“Oh, you are so kind,” she said and turned to speak the maids aside, “Get some tea for guests!”

Then, she lowered her head and patted the head of the cat in her arms, showing no interest in taking the gift at all.

My mother put down the gift on the coffee table, and then both of us sat down stiffly.

The maids walked over and poured us teas.

“So, um, is Evan back from his business trip?” My mother asked tentatively.

Grace raised her eyebrows slightly. “Yeah, he is not back until tomorrow,” she replied with an aloof voice.

“Oh, well… then will he…”

“Why are you here today, Mia?” Grace interrupted her, “Let’s just cut to the cheese here.”

Hearing that my mother laughed dryly and answered sheepishly, “Nothing important. I just thought I should stop by and visit you. Because, you know, Tina misses you so much. She is always telling me she is coming to see you…”
