Chapter 7
“Thank you for the trouble. I hope this will not leave a bad impression on you, alpha Hunter, Lilac said in small voice, thus it was hard for Hunter to hear her because of the lively and crowded street they were in. After that, she lifted her head to see his reaction, but he simply stared down at her, which made her confused to be staring at like that.
“I don’t know what are you saying, lets go to a quieter place,” Hunter said in his deep and hoarse tone, as he took Lilac’s hand again and led the way through the crowd. He simply turned deaf ears when Lilac tried to argue with him, he ignored her attempt to free herself from him.
At first, Lilac tried to make him stopped walking, but then she went quiet when she knew it was a futile attempt to stop him. They were not a match in strength, more so, with this loud noise around them, Lilac had to shout and hurt her own throat to talk with him, but this alpha didn’t seem to know what she was saying.
Lilac didn’t know where he would take her, but because this was still within the pack, which she was more familiar with compared to him, it didn’t make her alarm went off, but that was until Hunter took her to a comer of the street and went to the back alley. Her eyes widened in shock. It was not appropriate to be seen with a man in this quiet and dark place!
“Why are we here?” Lilac asked, she pulled her hand harshly and this time, Hunter let her go.
“We need a quiet place to talk, right?” Hunter crossed his arms in front of his chest, his gaze was still as piercing as ever when he looked at the petite woman before his eyes.
“There is nothing for us to talk about,” Lilac said curtly, she looked around her. She knew this place, but she had never been in this dark corner. Why should she come to this spot?
Hearing her fierce replied, Hunter raised his brows, his l*ps quirked up into an amusement smile. “That’s not what you said in the stall earlier, miss.”
Lilac couldn’t believe his argumentation. Was he really going to take that seriously? “You know that I only made an excuse to get away from him, right?”
“No. I don’t.” Hunter shrugged his shoulders. “I am not that smart to read between the line, miss. My apologize.”
He appeared to be polite, but somehow, Lilac felt like he was mocking her instead. If what he said was true that he was not that smart, then he must be very cunning to be able to drag her to this dark corner. No wonder he was the alpha of the lycan pack.
“I think there is misunderstanding here. I am sorry for using you as an excuse, but now, I need to go.” Lilac didn’t want anyone else to see her here with this man, because it would create a bad assumption and the last thing, she wanted was to attract people’s attention.
She didn’t like an attention and right now, people had started to wonder about the relationship between her and Aiden, since Ruby came into the picture.
“If you don’t want to talk, then I will be the one, who will talk,” Hunter said. “I have not yet introduced myself to you properly,” He grabbed Lilac’s hand and she could feel how rough and big it was. She couldn’t imagine what he could do to his enemy, with this strength he had. “I am Hunter, the alpha of the lycan
pack
Lilac wanted to say that she had figured that out, but out of politeness, she introduced herself nicely, though she felt her palm was being burned because of hot this lycan alpha’s b*dy temperature. The lycan really built differently from the rest of the shifter.
“I am Lilac, nice to meet you, alpha Hunter,” she said. She should thank luna Jasmine for her etiquette lesson, because she was the one, who had taught her about it, since she would be the future luna of the pack.
Lilac had been working her way out to learn everything that she needed, in order to be a good luna and for Aiden to be proud of her. She was an orphan after all, thus having a family was her dream and she got a parental figure on the alpha and the luna, she thought everything would be alright, but now she realized all the effort she had put into the lesson had been gone to the drain. It was such a waste for her now.
“Alpha, if you may excuse me,” Lilac said. She wanted to go back to her bedroom and curl herself there. She knew it was a bad idea to come to the lively party. However, Hunter didn’t let go of her hand, thus she couldn’t leave just yet.
“Is this how you treat your guest? I have not even yet spoken anything.” Hunter said in languid tone. He looked so charismatic, but somehow, he had this boyish smile and took everything not so seriously.
