Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 133

Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 133

“And you’ll be my wife soon.” David said, “It’s just a matter of time.”

Mrs. Brown was dazed when she saw Rachel. Then, she nodded respectfully at Rachel. Hello, Miss Grey.”

“Hello.” Rachel nodded slightly. She felt a little restless when she met Mrs. Brown’s meaningful gaze. Mrs. Brown must have seen David hold her hand.

Rachel struggled to shake off David’s hand and walked ahead, returning to the room.

Once she was back in her room, she took off her coat and did some stretches. Then she prepared to take a bath in the bathroom.

When she opened the wardrobe, she was surprised to find that the clothes inside were neatly arranged without any tags removed. They were all the latest styles of the season.

All of them were according to her preferences,

This stirred her up. Rachel was incredibly moved.

She took a set of clothes and went into the bathroom.

Meanwhile, David was sitting on the leather sofa in the study.

The dim light made his defined facial features stand out even more, and he exuded a cold

aura.

“Investigate the matter. I want to know who’s playing with fire.”

His unfeeling voice was filled with hostility and threat. It made Eddie Brook’s heart skip at beat. Eddie bowed respectfully even though David could not see him at all. “Yes, Mr. Jones.”

Chapter 133

After Rachel Grey came out of the bathtub, she noticed that the phone on the table had been vibrating. She walked over to answer the call.

It was from Lucas Johnson.

“Oh my god, you’ve finally picked up the call.” Lucas heaved a sigh of relief.

Rachel did not know what had happened on Lucas‘ end.

“What happened?” Rachel asked casually while drying her hair.

I went to Uncle Adrian’s apartment and realized you weren’t home. I called you, but you didn’t answer. I thought something had happened to you.” Lucas paused. “By the way, the things I bought for you are in the fridge.”

Rachel said, “Help me search for a black car with a license plate number ending with digits 256.”

Lucas fell silent, but Rachel could vaguely hear him typing rapidly on the keyboard. After a moment, he finally said, “This is a branded car, but according to the information given, this car should have been scrapped.”

He paused for a moment. “Why are you investigating this?”

A cold glint flashed through her eyes. “Help me keep an eye on Mr. Griffin.”

“Are you worried that those people might have seen what happened when you were at the Smith family?” Lucas asked.

Rachel was a little surprised. “You know?”

“I don’t have the time to deal with that bunch of trash from the Smith family.” Lucas only had disdain for them. “I heard that Olivia Cruise, the idiot caused trouble and ran to the antique dealing street with the fake she bought to get a refund. She even threatened to destroy their shop. Do you think the other party will let the matter go?”

Rachel thought it was not surprising that Olivia Cruise would be called an idiot after she heard what had happened.

There were unspoken rules in every field, and there were many for antique dealing. One of them was that refunds were strictly not allowed.

Lucas heard Mrs. Brown’s voice. “Rachel Grey, it’s late now. Why aren’t you home? Where are you?he demanded.
