Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 145

Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 145

The captain followed Eddie’s gaze and hesitated.

Coincidentally, the door of the interrogation room opened and an interrogator walked out. When he saw the captain, he greeted respectfully, “Captain Cole.”

“What’s going on here?” Don Cole raised his chin in the direction of the interrogation room.

The interrogator explained, “Someone just called the police and said that they saw someone being suspected of carrying out illegal transactions. Well, it happens that we’ve just wiped out the criminal gang. They’re arranging an interrogation inside.”

“Illegal transactions?” Eddie repeated in a low voice.

The interrogator nodded and subconsciously glanced at Don. Seeing that he did not stop him, he continued, “All these years, there have been people secretly selling antiques and paintings. There have also been people who took advantage of the situation to cheat others out of their money with replica antiques and artifacts. According to the evidence plundered from these people, we suspect that these people are related to the case three years ago.”

Don looked at the expression on Eddie’s face and asked carefully, “Special Assistant Brook, is there a problem with this case?”

Eddic came back to his senses and looked at Don with a faint smile. “This case sounds very important. Looks like I’ll have to trouble the captain to personally take care of it. I still have something on, so I’ll take my leave first.”

With that, he left with one hand in his pocket.

If he was not mistaken, the person in the interrogation room was Rachel.

However, he did not know if David knew about this.

Eddie pondered about it for a moment and decided to head back to the office immediately to inform David about the matter.

After all, this captain was known for being impartial.

At this moment, in the police station, the interrogators were interrogating them one by one.

Rachel sat in the middle with her hands cuffed and placed on the table. On the wall behind her were the words “If you confess, we will be lenient. Resist and you will face severe punishment.”

When Don walked into the interrogation room, he saw Rachel sitting on the chair and said coldly, “Tell me your name, age, and profession!”

Rachel calmly answered them one by one.

“Why were you at the scene? Were you conducting an illegal transaction? Did you bring these things here?!”

“I was there to save someone. No, no.Rachel answered his questions with the simplest

The captain was angered by Rachel’s casual attitude. He slammed the table. “Young lady, you’re quite pretty. Let me give you a piece of advice. If you confess, you’ll be punished leniently! Otherwise, you’ll face harsh treatment and spend your prime in prison!”

“Can I make a call?

“Do you think this is your home where you can do whatever you want!?!” The captain was furious. He glared at Rachel angrily. “I advise you to cooperate obediently. Otherwise, you’ll suffer!”
