The moment Rachel spoke, her words were filled with mockery. 

Louis’s expression darkened. He clenched his fists by his sides. “Rachel, can’t we just sit down and talk calmly? Do we have to hurt each other with these sharp 

words? 

“I know you hate me, blame me, and refuse to forgive me, but you have to give me a chance to make it up to you, right? People always make mistakes, but you have to at least give me a chance to fight for forgiveness, right? It’s not fair to judge me completely based on one thing!” 

Louis said so much because he hoped to obtain Rachel’s forgiveness. 

He hoped that Rachel would help him persuade Mr. Zane to continue investing in Smith Group. 

Rachel chuckled, but her eyes were cold. “I’m the one who was hurt, and I’m also the one who was betrayed. You can’t empathize with everything I’ve suffered, so why should I give you a chance to make up for me? And why should I choose to forgive you, who betrayed and hurt me mercilessly? 

“Louis, you’ve never been an irreplaceable existence to me. I won’t be in so much pain without you. Please put away your ridiculous narcissism!”

Suddenly, the corners of her lips curled up into a charming smile. “You want to attract more investments?” 

Louis pursed his lips and remained silent. 

“But I won’t help you. Instead, I’ll persuade Mr. Zane to withdraw his investment in Smith Group.” 

“Rachel!” Louis’s expression was stern. There was a hint of fury in his furrowed brows as he gritted his teeth and growled, “Are you out of your mind? You know how crucial Mr. Zane’s investment is to the Smith Group! You’re ruining Smith Group by doing this!” 

Rachel pried open Louis’s fingers one by one. “I can tell you clearly that I can accept your apology, but you have to be in as much pain as me before you can apologize!” 

With that, she turned around and left. 

Louis looked in the direction where Rachel left. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his gaze suddenly turned sinister and vicious. 

Olivia, who was standing not far away, slowly walked forward. “Louis, are you okay?” 

“Why are you here?” Louis asked impatiently. 

Olivia saw Louis’s expression and smoothly changed the topic. “When I was chatting with Mrs. Zane and the others just now, I accidentally heard her mention that the Johnson family members are here tonight.” 

When Louis heard this, the gloominess on his face faded a little, and his eyes flickered faintly. “Are you serious?” 

Olivia nodded solemnly. 

The Johnson family was one of the top families in Seaxas. 

It did not matter at all if he lost Mr. Zane as long as he could get the investment from the Johnson family!
