Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 461

Chapter 461

As soon as Rachel finished speaking, the huge office fell into such silence that even a falling needle could be heard.

Smoke swirled in front of Marina, and her red lips could be vaguely seen. They were cold and enchanting, like a red rose with thorns.

After a while, Marina said in a low and gentle voice. “Miss Grey, you surprised me completely. I’m starting to admire you a little.”

What she had said sounded like praise at first, but on second thought, one would find that it was more like a provocation.

Rachel placed the cup in her hand on the table and met Marina’s gaze fearlessly. “I hope I won’t disappoint you.”

Marina smiled, put out the cigarette in her hand, and threw it into the ashtray. Then, she picked up her bag, stood up, and glanced down at Rachel. Her glance contained too many emotions, which were contempt, probing, and a trace sizing Rachel up.

“It’s getting late. I should leave now. Otherwise, Mom will be waiting anxiously,” Marina said as she walked out.

No sooner had she just taken a few steps than she heard David saying in a cold. and unreasonable voice behind her, “Eddie, see the guest out!”

Marina stopped and then turned sideways to look at David. The smile on her face suddenly turned cold.

She snorted softly and turned to leave.

After getting into the car, Marina threw her bag on the seat and sneered, “Idiot!” David was about to face a calamity, but he actually dared to be so impolite to her!

Currently, the news that David had a woman was spreading like wildfire on the island. The Elders had already begun to send people to investigate.

However, David was too unmerciful. There had been no news about those people sent out for investigation.

Coincidentally, Marina heard of Rachel from Wharton, and she wanted to meet Rachel in person. However, during their conversation, David did not mention the woman called Rachel Grey at all.

It was obvious that David wanted to protect Rachel.

For all these years, there had never been a woman by David’s side. It was really rare for him to protect such a woman.
