Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 553

Chapter 553

Darcy met his gaze fearlessly. “You’re not the only one who survived. I thought you should have understood that long ago.”

“What do you mean?” Ronnie’s expression changed slightly. His eyes flickered with a complicated light as he stared at Darcy.

The Shadow had been loyal for generations. Although it was only loyal to one person, its ability was obvious to all.

Since the Shadow had personally said that he was not the only one who had survived, there must be others!

Thinking of this, Ronnie felt the blood in his body freeze. Even though he tried his best to suppress the excitement in his heart, the trembling of his fingertips revealed the emotional fluctuations in his heart.

Darcy glanced at him indifferently. Then, he took out an aerated candy from his pocket and bit through the hard icing. He said expressionlessly, “I’ve already said what I needed to say.”

With that, he turned around and left.

Ronnie watched him leave and immediately called the buzz-cut man in.

The buzz-cut man said respectfully, “Boss.”

“Check Jessica Tower for me. The sooner, the better!” Ronnie ordered. “Yes.”

At Sandalwood Hills.

Even at night, it was still brightly lit like a sparkling pearl in the dark night.

However, at this moment, Rachel had no time to appreciate it. She quickly returned to her room.

When she passed by the study, she was surprised to find that David was still awake.

Just as she was hesitating whether to go in and greet him, Mrs. Brown walked over with a cup of coffee and said respectfully, “Miss Grey, you’re back.”

Rachel nodded and noticed the thing in her hand. “I’ll send it in.”

“Alright.” Mrs. Brown smiled and nodded.

Rachel took the coffee and was about to knock on the door.

Unexpectedly, the door suddenly opened from inside.

David grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the study.

She almost spilled the coffee in her hand.

“You won a lot of money tonight, right?”

His voice was low and deep. It sounded beside her ear, causing Rachel’s heart to skip a beat.

She looked up and met his dark eyes. Her fingertips curled up slightly.

“I…” She swallowed guiltily. “I was just playing around casually…”

“Playing around? Playing around in front of Hell? Playing around casually and using yourself as a bet? Playing around casually, and you almost got yourself killed?” David’s dark eyes were stormy. “I was worried that you would encounter some danger when you went out alone, but you took the initiative to enter the tiger’s den! Rachel Grey, should I praise you for your courage, hmm?”

There was irrepressible anger in his tone.

Rachel’s eyes narrowed slightly. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, but she did not respond.

She originally wanted to find a random reason to hide this matter, but now, it seemed that nothing could escape David’s eyes.

After pondering for a long time, Rachel reached out and tugged at the corner of his shirt. “I didn’t know Ronnie would be there, and I don’t think I’ll lose…”

Not to mention anything else, Rachel was still confident in the casino.

“It looks like you guys are having fun. You’re already calling each other by names intimately.”

Rachel was shocked by his words.

Indeed, when a man was angry and jealous, he became unreasonable!
