Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 622

Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia

Chapter 622

“Miss Yule, you just said that I was full of lies and slander. You even wanted to sue me. Why have you been silent now?” Rachel’s tone was light, slow, and indifferent, making people shudder.

Winnie’s eyelashes trembled and her eyes were filled with panic. Winnie opened her (m o u t h) but could not make a sound. Winnie’s voice was so dry that it sounded like a traveler who had been walking in the desert for three days.

Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly and looked at Winnie with a faint smile, but her eyes were terrifyingly cold.

Winnie knew that she could not avoid it, but she really could not apologize to Rachel in front of so many people.

Winnie was the champion of the fashion competition and had received

professional training. Even if Rachel was talented, she had never learned design. What right did Rachel have to accept Winnie’s apology?

“Winnie, you’ve really embarrassed me!” A deep scolding voice suddenly sounded.

Hearing the familiar voice, Winnie trembled. The colors drained from her face, leaving her pale.

Winnie raised her head stiffly and saw the man walking toward her. She could help but widen her eyes, her pupils trembling violently. “Mr. Douglas…”

Without waiting for Winnie to finish, Harvey Douglas shouted angrily, “(S h u t) up. don’t have a shameless apprentice like you! You’ve really embarrassed me! Back then, I took you in as my apprentice and taught you everything without reservation. Is this how you repay me?”

“No, Mr. Douglas, I was wrong. I really know my mistake.” Winnie was completely flustered.

If Winnie was abandoned by Harvey, she would be notorious completely in the industry in the future.

Winnie wanted to go forward and grab Harvey’s hand, but her legs went soft and she fell to the ground in a sorry state. Winnie crawled to Harvey’s feet and grabbed Harvey’s pants tightly. “Mr. Douglas, I know my mistake. Please don’t abandon me. What should I do if even you don’t want me…”

Harvey was the vice president of the garment association. Back then, Harvey felt that Winnie had some talent and made an exception to take Winnie in as an apprentice. Harvey hadn’t expected that Winnie would cause such a huge scandal today. Not only did Winnie’s reputation be ruined, but Harvey was also implicated.

Harvey was really unlucky to have such an apprentice.

Harvey lowered his eyes and looked at Winnie, who was kneeling on the ground. There was no worry on Harvey’s gloomy face. “You should know that the design industry has always supported original works and boycotted plagiarism. However, you knew that you couldn’t do it, but you insisted on doing it. Now, it’s even turned into this situation. You brought this on yourself!”

Originally, when Harvey saw the competition draft design handed in by Winnie this time, he was extremely gratified. Harvey thought that Winnie had finally made a huge breakthrough. Harvey never expected that Winnie had obtained it through plagiarism.

Harvey took a deep breath and walked to Rachel with an apologetic look. “It’s my fault for not teaching Winnie well. Today’s trouble was caused by this disappointing apprentice of mine. However, as her teacher, I’m also in the wrong. It’s my fault for neglecting Winnie. I apologize to you solemnly. I’m sorry.”

Rachel’s expression was indifferent as if she did not hear Harvey.

Seeing Rachel’s indifferent expression, Harvey felt uneasy.

Suddenly, Harvey saw Winnie kneeling at his feet. He kicked Winnie angrily. “(B a s t a r d), hurry up and apologize to Miss Grey!”

Winnie was stunned for a moment. She bit her lip and said in fear, “Miss Grey, I was wrong. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have stolen your draft design. Please forgive m I’m sorry!”

The moment Winnie saw Harvey appear, all her pride and self-esteem disintegrated. Winnie naturally agreed to apologize.

Rachel looked down at Winnie and said casually, “Remember to make a statement to clarify.”

Everyone secretly heaved a sigh of relief when they saw Rachel leave.

However, before they could let this sigh of relief, Rachel stopped in her tracks, turned around, and slowly raised her eyes to look at them.

A casual gaze was filled with huge pressure. It was as if an invisible hand was grabbing their necks, making everyone’s breathing stagnate.
