It was already nine when Rachel woke up the next morning. 

It took her a moment to realize where she was, as she stared blankly at the ceiling. 

After washing up, she hurriedly packed her things. 

She realized that her phone was on the bedside table. 

However, she didn’t give it much thought and exited the bedroom quickly. 

When she walked down the spiral staircase, she saw three men sitting in the living room. They were Jimmy Shain, Landon Walker, and an unfamiliar man. 

The man, who donned a striped suit, had distinct facial features that hinted at his mixed-race background. 

He had his legs crossed and leaned back in the seat with one arm draped over the backrest, holding a cigar with his well-defined fingers. 

From the corner of his eye, he noticed Rachel’s skirt. He narrowed his eyes and stared straight at her. His gray-blue eyes showed a hint of surprise. 

Rachel stood before the grand staircase in a double-collared gown. With each step she took, the slit in the hem revealed her long, slender legs. 

Yet, it was her face that stood out the most, 

Unlike a pure, delicate white flower, Rachel looked alluring and stunning, exuding her assertive beauty. 

Aureliana wasn’t a large city. Its population wasn’t as vast as Crucsia’s, but it certainly wasn’t lacking in beauties. 

However, compared to Rachel, those beauties lacked uniqueness. 

Facing the man’s scrutiny, Rachel didn’t panic at all. Instead, she met his gaze fearlessly. 

She laid her hand gently on the handrail and slowly made her way down the spiral staircase. She was like a Persian cat walking on a soft carpet, her posture languid and noble. Hearing the sound of her footsteps, David turned his head slightly and glanced at her. In that moment, the coldness in his eyes disappeared. He said with a gentle smile, “You’re awake.” As Rachel approached him, David extended his hand. 

She placed her hand on his and took the opportunity to sit beside him. 

“This is Thomas Bowes.” 

Thomas Bowes was the heir of the Bowes family in Aureliana. He was also an expert in cardiovascular surgery in an international medical organization. 

A meaningful look flashed across Rachel’s eyes as she smiled at Thomas. “Greetings, Rachel Grey.” 

“Bowes…” Rachel pondered. 

“Bowes is a rare surname. Could he be related to Ethan Bowes?” 

Thomas continued to introduce himself. “Nice to meet you, I’m Thomas Bowes.” 

“Rachel, did you sleep well last night?” At that moment, Jimmy Shain interrupted. Hearing how he addressed Rachel, Thomas raised his brows.

Thomas looked at David and said, “Are you really not going to reconsider?” 

Casually picking up a glass of warm water from the table. David handed it to Rachel and remarked, “I never make choices that I regret.” 

Understanding the implication behind his words, Thomas smiled meaningfully and replied, “I just wonder if others would allow you the freedom to choose.” 

Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly. 

“Aren’t you going back to the old residence?” Thomas asked and slowly stood up. “I’ll leave you to enjoy the show.” 

David looked at him with a blank expression, standing on his feet to send him off. 

Thomas couldn’t help but scan Rachel. 

David and Thomas walked out of the entrance one after another. Thomas pursed his lips and raised his chin slightly in the direction of Rachel. “Why don’t you reconsider? An ornamental vase doesn’t suit you. 

In his impression, David wasn’t someone who was easily charmed by women. 

However, Rachel was too stunning to resist. 

Over the years, he had seen countless beauties and had developed a systematic concept of women. But when Rachel appeared, his eyes sparkled with newfound appreciation.

David agreed with a vacant expression. 

Deep down, everyone wanted to meet Rachel. 

Half an hour later, Rachel and David set off for the old residence after having a meal. 

Rachel seemed a little nervous. 

After all, this was the first time she would be meeting David’s parents, 

“Are you nervous?” David curled his thin lips into a faint smile.
