Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 684

Chapter 684

The most significant advantage of having the entire island sealed off was that they could move around freely and not be noticed by anyone.

Rachel looked at the blue seawater and suddenly became playful. She took off her high heels, grabbed the front of her gown, and stepped into the water.

The cold seawater and fine sand wrapped around the soles of her feet. The complex sensation spread from the soles of her feet to her heart, making her heart shake uncontrollably.

“You like it here?” David’s voice came from behind.

Rachel turned around and saw David standing in the sunlight.

He was tall and straight. His body enveloped the top of her head, covering the dazzling and bright light for her.

He looked at her gently, his dark eyes filled with unspeakable affection.

He slowly extended his hand to Rachel as if inviting her to spend the rest of her life with him.

Rachel stretched out her hand without hesitation and handed it to his dry and warm palm. “What if I say I like it?”

“It will be your private island,” David replied calmly.

It was a casual sentence, as well as a promise that left no room for negotiation.

Rachel’s heart skipped a beat. “A good scenery needs to be shared with everyone. Only then will it be interesting. Moreover, I’m not greedy.”

“It’s enough to have you by my side.” She didn’t speak the last sentence.

“But I’m greedy.” David slowly squatted down and held Rachel’s slender ankle. He took out at handkerchief he always carried and gently wiped the sand under her feet. “In the past, I thought that it was enough to see you once a day. Later, I thought that it was enough to be with you every day. Now, I want to say forever.”

Chris, who was standing not far away, was confused by this sudden confession.

She was overwhelmed and at a loss.

Why was this public display of affection so sudden?

Rachel lowered her gaze and looked at David. Her big clear eyes flickered with specks of light, and her smile reached her eyes.

Vulture walked out of the bedroom and stretched his back. From the corner of his eye, he saw the two in the distance.

He squinted his eyes slightly, displeasure appearing in the depths of his eyes. Then, he muttered a curse and took out a cigarette from his pocket to light it up.

At this moment, his phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Lone Wolf.

As soon as he picked up the call, Lone Wolf’s young voice sounded through the phone. “Good news and bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?”

Vulture had just been provoked by Rachel and David’s public display of affection. He needed psychological comfort now. “Cut the crap. Tell me the good news first!”

Lone Wolf said, “Someone just placed an anonymous order with a reward of 100 million dollars.”

For some reason, Vulture’s right eyelid twitched when he heard this. An ominous feeling rose in his heart.

The next second, Lone Wolf said the bad news. “The other party asked for Twelve’s head.”

“Fuck!” Vulture could not help but curse. “Which fucking idiot placed the order!”

“It’s anonymous. We can’t find out.” The sound of fingers typing on the keyboard came from Lone Wolf. “But according to the location, it should be from Aureliana.”

It was obvious that Rachel had become everyone’s target.

No matter why they wanted Rachel dead, Rachel was already at the center of the storm, given the current situation.

“Don’t take it!” Vulture took a deep drag on his cigarette. White smoke shrouded his face, hiding the ruthlessness in his eyes. “Investigate! I want to see who has the guts to mess with me!”

“Alright,” Lone Wolf replied.

Just as he was about to hang up the phone, he suddenly thought of something and quickly asked, “By the way, how exactly are Twelve and David related?”

Vulture snorted softly. “He’s most likely bewitched by her beauty.”

There was a hint of jealousy in his casual tone.

He sighed faintly. “In short, Twelve is now determined to go all the way.”

“This girl has always been like this.” Lone Wolf chuckled softly, his tone doting and indulgent. “Whatever she sets her mind to, she would go for it unless she changes the idea herself.”

On the other side, Rachel and David were walking along the coast hand in hand.

Bluewater, golden beaches, and seagulls flew across the sky occasionally, making an ethereal hiss. Looking at the two shadows on the beach under the sunlight, Rachel could not help but smile.

“In a few days, do you want to join in the fun for the cabinet meeting?” David looked at Rachel. They subconsciously walked in sync. Even their steps were surprisingly consistent.

Rachel held David’s hand and shook it slightly. “As an outsider, how can I attend the cabinet meeting?” “As long as you want to.” David stared at her without blinking. His well-defined fingers caressed the ring on her ring finger. “Whether you’re an outsider or not, you’re my fiancée. It’s legitimate and reasonable for you to attend the cabinet meeting.
