Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 794

Chapter 794

Rachel stared at Chris for a moment. Then, Rachel put down the knife and fork in her hand, picked up the coffee beside her, and asked casually. “Any news from Seaxas?”

“No.” Chris said without hesitation or thought

However, Chris’s performance confirmed the suspicion in Rachel’s heart.

“Eat first” Rachel put down the coffee in her hand and stood up

Seeing Rachel get up and leave, Chris hurriedly stood up as well. “Miss Grey, where are you going?”

“I will go back to my room and change my clothes Rachel smiled faintly and reached out to pat Chris’s shoulder. “Wait for me here. I’ll be back soon”

After Rachel returned to the room, she immediately took out her phone and called Lucas. “What happened recently in

Seaxas?”

On the other end of the line, Lucas put out his cigarette in the ashtray. “Everything is normal at home. Don’t worry” Ever since Tom’s accident, Lucas had upgraded his intelligence network system. The goal was to obtain information immediately. Although it was currently in the testing stage, it had already shown obvious results.

It was easier to know some news than before.

Rachel guessed that if something really happened to David, Lucas would definitely know something.

However, Lucas’s indirect answer now aroused Rachel’s suspicion again.

Rachel’s eyes narrowed slightly, and an inexplicable coldness flickered in the depths of her charming eyes. “I asked if anything happened to David”

Hearing this, Lucas on the other end of the line fell into a short silence.

Lucas picked up the lighter on the table and lit another cigarette. He took a deep puff and said unhurriedly. The news about him has been completely blocked. Instead of asking me, you might as well ask him what he’s been up to recently.”

First, David sent Ethan out of the experimental base. Then, he transferred a group of people to carry out a drug experiment. Now, he completely blocked all news. It was simply mysterious.

Originally, Rachel still had a trace of hope in her heart. Now that she heard Lucas’s words, her entire heart felt like it had been tied to a rock. It was heavy and pressed on her blood vessels. Her heart kept contracting and squeezing, making her a little breathless.

Rachel gripped her phone tightly and took a deep breath to calm herself down. Her cold voice was mixed with a hint of hoarseness “I understand.”

After hanging up the phone, Rachel stared blankly at the beautiful scenery in the distance.

After a moment of silence, Rachel took out her phone and called Vulture.

The call went on for a long time, but there was no response.

If Vulture was out on a mission, it was understandable for him to lose contact occasionally. However, Vulture had just arrived at Seaxas not long ago. Now that Vulture had lost contact, it seemed like he was trying to cover something up.

No one picked up for a long time, and the call was automatically hung up

As the phone screen darkened, Rachel’s expression gradually turned cold.

Rachel’s delicate features seemed to be covered in a layer of ice, and a terrifying aura lingered around her.

What exactly happened in Seaxas?

The more they hid it, the stronger Rachel’s desire to find out.

Especially since Rachel couldn’t contact David at this moment, her mind couldn’t help but run wild. Rachel kept feeling that something must have happened to David.

Ever since Rachel got along with David, they had never lost contact with each other.

No matter what one was busy with, one would contact the other immediately. I was very common for them to contact each other on Whatsapp. Sometimes, they would even video chat until late at night. In short, David had never made Rachel feel so uncasy as now.

Rachel turned on her phone and looked at the messages of the two of them over the par

in the early morning of yesterday.

Rachel stubbornly wanted to see David, even if it was just a glance,

Rachel took out her phone and dialed a video call. The ringtone rang for a few seconds before it was hung up mercilessly. Then, a message appeared on the screen. [Not convenient for the time being. What’s the matter?]

When Rachel saw this line of words, her brows furrowed imperceptibly.

Just as Rachel was feeling suspicious, her phone vibrated. Another message from David arrived. [Tve been a little busy recently Ill contact you when I have time. Love you.]

Rachel looked at the message on her phone screen. A cold look appeared between her eyebrows, and the corners of her lips curled up slightly into a cold smule.

It seemed that something had really happened.

At the same time, Billy and Eddie were holding David’s phone and plotting something

“Why hasn’t Miss Grey replied yet?” Billy stared at the phone screen without blinking. A certain nerve in his brain was tense, and his eyes were filled with fighting spirit as if he was about to fight an army alone. “Could it be that we’ve exposed ourselves?”

Originally. Eddie was already feeling uneasy. Now that he heard Billy’s words, he only felt that the phone in his hand was like a hot potato. “Look on the bright side. What if our skills are superb and we fool her?”

Even though Eddie did not believe it, he still had a sliver of hope in his heart.

One minute, two minutes, five minutes later…

There was no response from Rachel for a long time. The two of them secretly heaved a sigh of relief. It was as if all their strength had been drained from their bodies as they fell onto the rows of chairs in the hospital corridor.
