The sharp bang of the gavel echoed through the hall, sealing my fate. The room buzzed with whispers, but all I could hear was the wild thumping of my heart.
Kieran’s men wasted no time. They grabbed my arms roughly and yanked me off the stage without a word. My shoes scraped against the polished floor as they dragged me toward a side door, away from the greedy eyes of the crowd.
The hallway was dim and smelled sterile, with an unsettling trace of fear lingering in the air. Their grip was tight, making my shoulders ache, but I kept my head high. I wouldn’t let them see any sign of weakness.
They shoved me into a small, bare room. There was nothing inside except a single chair bolted to the floor. The walls closed in around me, thick with tension meant to suffocate any sense of hope.
Kieran’s voice broke the silence. “Wait here while they finalize the payment.”
He didn’t wait for a reply, turning sharply and locking the door behind him. The click of the lock echoed in my ears.
I exhaled slowly, the weight of the situation settling on my chest. It was over. My deal with Kieran was done.
. The blood pact that had bound us was finally broken.
But I wasn’t free. Not yet.
Someone had just paid an outrageous sum for me, and I knew exactly what they would expect–obedience, loyalty, and complete control over my life.
But they weren’t getting any of that.
I paced the room, my mind whirling with plans. I needed a way out–and fast. Harper’s playful smile and Cooper’s wide, curious eyes filled my thoughts. I promised myself I’d return to them, no matter what it took.
I clenched my fists, feeling the fire in my chest ignite. Whoever bought me was about to learn they hadn’t just purchased a helpless woman.
As I paced the room, racking my brain for a way out, the sound of chaos pierced the heavy silence. Shouts echoed through the corridor, mingling with the crashing of furniture and the unmistakable thud of bodies colliding.
My heart raced. I froze, straining to make sense of the noise.
The unmistakable growl of a werewolf cut through the commotion, low and guttural, vibrating through the walls. Fear prickled down my spine. I hadn’t heard a sound like that in years–not since I’d left that part of my life behind.
My breathing quickened. The snarls grew louder, more feral, as though a pack had descended on the place. The auction was
under attack.
The door rattled as something–or someone–slammed against it from the outside. I stumbled back, my pulse thundering in my ears.
More roars filled the air, followed by panicked screams. The scent of blood and sweat seeped under the door, thick and metallic.

Estood in the dim room, every muscle tense, waiting for the door to collapse under the weight of whatever chaos was brewing outside. My heart hammered against my ribs, adrenaline coursing through me as I clutched the chair I’d managed to loosen, ready to use it as a weapon.
But the door didn’t splinter or shatter like I expected.
Instead, it swung open with an eerie calmness that sent a chill down my spine. And standing there, framed by the flickering lights of the hallway, was Kieran.
His sharp suit was untouched by the commotion outside, and his smirk was as cold and calculated as ever. He looked completely unbothered by the chaos, as though it were all beneath him.
“I wouldn’t leave my prized possession behind,” he drawled, his tone dripping with arrogance. “Not when I haven’t been paid in full.”
Before I could react, he stepped into the room and grabbed my arm in a vice–like grip, yanking me toward him.
“Let me go!” I snarled, twisting against his hold. I yanked my arm but his grip tightened, his nails biting into my skin.
“Don’t make this harder than it needs to be,” Kieran warned, his voice low and dangerous. His smirk stayed firmly in place as I twisted and fought against his iron grip. “You’re worth too much for me to let you get away now.”
I shot him a furious glare, but he only tightened his hold and pulled me toward the exit. The hallway was dim, filled with distant shouts, growls, and the crash of things breaking. Smoke hung in the air, stinging my throat and making it hard to breathe.
Just as we neared the exit, a group of men appeared, blocking our path. Their presence was commanding, and danger radiated off them like heat.
The man in front, tall and draped in a dark coat, stepped forward with a sneer. His voice was cold and firm. “I believe you have something that belongs to my master.” His sharp gaze locked onto me, possessive and unwavering.
Kieran’s stance shifted as he pulled me behind him. His usual smugness didn’t falter. “Not until you pay for it,” he said smoothly, his grip on my arm steady.
The man’s smile turned cruel. “I don’t think you understand, Hunter. You’re in no position to make demands. Your place is under attack. You might want to deal with that before it’s too late
Kieran’s voice was icy. “I don’t care about that. This woman is worth more than everything in that building. I can replace it all once I sell her.”
The man’s smile vanished, replaced by grim determination. “Too bad for you,” he said darkly. “My master doesn’t share what’s his.”
Without warning, he drew a gleaming sword, its blade catching the dim light. His men followed suit, their weapons ready for a fight.

The readers' comments on the novel: Betrayed by an Alpha claimed by a Lycan King (Sage and Titus)
Is it finished?...
...i mean...you had the perfect ending...why keep going?? ugh...i feel like author is going to continue with twists and turns [-_-]...
Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...
Would love more chapters...
ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...
Please this has to stop , Titus is suppose to be her savior but she's going through too much...
This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
