Betrayed By The Hero, Loved By The Lord novel Chapter 150

Chapter 150: Plotting for the future (3)

"Why can’t there be a plan which doesn’t involve me having to sleep with him? Nothing about it is enjoyable. For a man who sleeps around so much, why is he so awful?" Vivienne wondered.

Vivienne walked a little further so she could sit on a wall. "I hope you care for me more than you care for the palace. It doesn’t matter who sits on the throne. All five families are considered royalty."

"But you and your husband are the face of this kingdom. That is what I want," Victor replied.

"Well, being in the palace is not as good as it sounds. There is always something to bother you. I already planned to have one more child for him and hopefully, this will be the last. I will not have some women come in here and gloat about having a boy. Once the prince is born, I am free," Vivienne said, hoping her father asked nothing more of her.

Victor nodded his head. "It will be so that you are free. Have you taken care of my granddaughter?"

"What for? Many servants serve her. She does not need me to be at her side. I am sure she is well taken care of," Vivienne said, uninterested in raising a child she did not want in the first place. "I told you from the start that I did not care for any child we would have. This marriage isn’t what I wanted."

"Vivienne, you cannot go on blaming me for this. I was more than happy to wed you to the Blackthorn boy but you failed to convince him to marry you. The king was the next best thing then and for a moment, you were in love with Darius," Victor reminded Vivienne.

"I was angry and didn’t realise how terrible of a husband he would be. Had I not gotten married perhaps," Vivienne stopped. She didn’t want to say it out loud but perhaps she would have been with Xavier long enough to convince him to marry her.

Victor knew Vivienne well enough to know what was on her mind now. "You must stop thinking about him. He is out of your reach now and I would not like to fight him now. I know the Blackthorns are not pleased with his choice for a wife so you might have your wishes come true when they get rid of her."

"It is taking too long," Vivienne muttered. "I would rather see him married to the princess. To anyone worthy of standing beside him but not her. I do not understand why they are both interested in her. Well, I know some of the reasons for Darius. Why wasn’t she killed for what her family did?"

"She was found innocent. Vivienne, I hope you are not spending your days being concerned about this woman. You will appear as a fool to others. If she is so beneath you, why must you think about her? Do not your jealousy ruin you," Victor said since then it would ruin their family name.

"It will not ruin me. I will not have her walking around with her head held high now that she is married to Xavier. We must never forget what her family did. I must return to his side, don’t I?" Vivienne asked, looking back to where the ball was held. "I cannot stop thinking of Theresa."

"Where is she? I will have her come back to your side," Victor offered.

Vivienne could not meet her father’s eyes. "She cannot come back. Darius bedded her so I had her killed to-"
