Selene slowly walked into the room trying to grasp the sight before her. She didn’t like the sight of another woman lying so comfortably on the bed she shared with Xavier. It was sacred for Selene. A place she felt most vulnerable and comfortable since she got married.
"You!" Lucas exclaimed, angered by the sight before him. Xavier wasn’t going to like this.
Agnes couldn’t believe her eyes that someone had not only managed to get past the guards but lay on the bed. "What do you-"
"No," Selene stopped Agnes. "I will take care of this. That is not your place," she spoke to the unwelcomed guest.
Selene composed herself and started walking toward the bed. The woman on the bed was a stranger to Selene but not a stranger to the kingdom. "It is not a good look for a princess to do this. You are lying on the bed meant for a married couple."
"Married?" Came the response from the princess. "Who allowed that?"
Morgana Croix, princess and younger sister of the king, ran her fingers against the bed. It bothered her how Selene’s presence was hard to ignore in the room. "I did not allow him to wed a woman like you"
Selene had many questions first starting with how the princess made it so far onto the estate without the guards stopping her. She needed an answer for that later. A good answer that wouldn’t lead her to wonder what relationship Xavier once had with the princess.
For now, Selene was glad the princess wasn’t harmed though she stood where she didn’t belong. The princess being injured here would start a war with the palace which shouldn’t happen yet. They didn’t need this distraction when they were to be figuring out what happened to her parents.
"Our guards are currently fighting the palace guards she brought along with her. Your men are dropping like flies,’ Lucas informed Morgana.
Morgana wasn’t concerned about the guards she brought since they were merely a distraction. "Do what you want with them. They did fight on land belonging to someone else. My business here is with her. The thief," she pointed to Selene.
’Wonderful,’ Selene thought. Another one of Xavier’s admirers but this one might be most annoying for the lengths she went through.
Selene could not get the sight of the princess lying on the bed out of her head. It might be a small matter to others but Selene felt like her one peaceful place was tarnished.
"I am not a thief but you have made yourself out to be an intruder. Please leave before now so we can avoid any more fighting," said Selene.
Morgana sat back down on the bed. "I finally saw today as a good day to have a word with you. I am not leaving until we have talked. You two go away," she shooed Agnes and Lucas.
Selene sighed. Why did there need to be three rotten apples as royalty?
