Betrayed By The Hero, Loved By The Lord novel Chapter 283

Chapter 283: Changing the town (2)

Cassandra was relieved she didn’t feel strange after Phillip drew the mark on her hand, but she didn’t like that he had placed something she knew nothing about on her hand.

Phillip released Cassandra’s hand, no longer concerned about her running away. She would now be loyal to him forever.

Cassandra rubbed her hand, trying to soothe the spot where Phillip had gripped her. Something was off about this, but she couldn’t place what it was.

Phillip was smiling, and the others just stared as if they were waiting for Phillip’s next order.

"What now?" Cassandra asked, needing someone to speak to kill the nervousness she felt.

How was she going to have power like Phillip did? Was she no longer normal?

"You will rest here for a moment with the others, and I will make sure you are not disturbed until it is time for us to go after the purebloods. When it happens, do not fight it," Phillip said, stepping away from the fire so it would start.

Cassandra still didn’t understand what was happening. She had gotten to this part, but still, Phillip was keeping her in the dark. What was going to happen next?

Cassandra wanted to follow Phillip, but her body wouldn’t move. She was confused at first, but then realised it must have something to do with the mark Phillip drew.

Cassandra frantically tried rubbing off the mark so she would be free, but it would not go away. It was not as easy to take off the mark as it was for Phillip to draw it on.

"Why can’t it come off?" Cassandra panicked, looking around to see if the others were doing the same.

Unfortunately, the others stood still, waiting for the power Phillip spoke of.

Cassandra’s fear grew as she started to hear Phillip chant something she could not make out.

It no longer felt like they were on holy ground with what was happening here. Philip truly was a monster, like Cassandra thought, and the others were blindly following them, or so she thought.

Cassandra locked eyes with Andre, who seemed concerned, but he wasn’t trying to fight what was being done.

Cassandra screamed, gripping her right hand, which started to burn. It felt like the mark was burning its way through her skin so she would never be able to get rid of it.

Phillip stood off to the side, smiling as he watched them be born anew. He had been through this before, so he knew how painful it would be. It was scary at first, but once the hard part was over, they would feel far more powerful.

Phillip could still remember the day he heard the whispers of a God leading him to where all his answers were. That day changed his life, and he would never forget it.

Phillip decided to leave since he had plenty of work to do before the war fell on the kingdom. There would be many deaths during the war, thus there would be many humans who needed to be prayed for.

To avoid so many deaths on his side, Phillip needed to give more power to his people. He needed to turn as many of them as he could, giving them the same power he had handed to Cassandra and the others.

"I will not fail you," Phillip promised the little voice in his head.

The God which could not show itself had been by his side for years, pushing him on. They spoke of a future where vampires were not present in this town and humans would rule.

That future was near.

All Phillip needed to do was be kind and pass on the power given to him to the others.

Phillip returned to his room to collect the holy weapon he kept to himself. In time, Phillip planned to share that he had purposely gotten rid of the last bit of holy water the church had.

They had no use for holy water now that they had the power Phillip found.

"Soon," Phillip promised.
