After three days, Nina was discharged from the hospital. She gathered her things and got dressed in the clothes Ella brought for her. Even though she was absent for one week, no one cared to find out what happened to her. Neither her husband is demanding her for a divorce or her father and his new family. In this one year that she was married to Theodore, she completely lost touch with a few friends she had in the past. Her aspiring career was forgotten and Theodore became the centre of her universe. Now, after the accident when she almost lost her life, she realised that nothing is more important than self love and her own happiness.
"So, what are you planning to do now?" Ella asked her.
Ella offered to drive her to the villa which she started to live in after she married Theodore. Ella submitted the document to her technical team who was reviewing it.
"I am planning to sign those damn documents and free myself from the shackles of unwanted marriage which I inflicted upon myself" Nina replied without any hesitation.
But deep down, it still hurts to let go of her first love. Because she just couldn't forget the love she had for that man for the last one and half years with a snap of his finger. But she can hide it.
Ella placed her hand on Nina's shoulder.
"No matter whatever you decide, I will support you" she said earnestly.
Nina chuckled without mirth. She is laughing at the irony of her situation.
"What happened? What is so funny?" Ella inquired curiously.
Nina's eyes became frosty when she remembered her life untill now.
"The father who raised me doesn't care about me. My husband whom I love more than myself cares about another woman. But you, we met in an accident. But it's you who is standing by my side when I am feeling like I don't have anyone" she spoke the bitter truth.
Ella smiled sadly. She started to feel the same way after her husband's death. All her relatives who used to act sweet and caring started to show their true colours when they realised that she might be on the streets soon.
"Nina, believe it or not, we both are lost souls. Sailing in the same boat. When I heard that your husband refused to come to see you in the hospital, I understood that your situation might be different, but we both are similar in a different way. That's why I decided to stick around. And I don't regret my decision either" Ella shared her thoughts.
Nina felt grateful that she found a friend in this entire ordeal. Later, Ella dropped Nina in the Morrison villa.
"Mrs. Morrison, where have you been? Do you know how worried I was? I didn't had your number in my mobile. I never needed it. But this past week, I was so tensed" Rosa, the housekeeper said with concern as soon as she saw Nina with bandages wrapped around her head, hand and her left leg. She is walking with difficulty. When Rosa noticed all of this, she became even more worried.
