Chapter 0073
Caroline’s POV:
As excitement danced in William’s eyes, I couldn’t help but give my heart out to Sophia. The poor girl was forgotten so easily by William. I didn’t know how he was going to deal with his relationship with Sophia, and honestly I didn’t even care anymore.

William’s burning gaze lingered on me, and soon my resolve broke and I couldn’t handle it anymore. I found my perfect excuse when I smelled the breakfast that the nanny was making for us.
“Remember those scones you used to make?” I reminded him, a faux smile crossing my face.” Do you think you could make those again?”
William brightened up at my request, a smile of his own splitting his face. “Yes, of course!” he replied, sounding excited just at the prospect of doing something for me. “I can whip some up just for us.” Turning on his heel, he loudly addressed the nanny as he approached the kitchen. Hey, Sandra! Where’s the flour and jam?” he called, disappearing behind the corner.
A bitter smile appeared on my lips as I watched him leave. In truth, I really did like William’s scones, but I’d only tried them once. Every time I’d asked him to make some, he always found one excuse or another to get out of it. At first I had foolishly taken these excuses at face value, but now that I was far more familiar with my ex husband’s behavior, I now knew it was because he just didn’t care about me enough to put in the effort.
Now William agreed without a hint of hesitation, but I couldn’t be excited for it this time around. After sustaining so much damage, my stomach couldn’t handle many kinds of food
anymore.
Waiting until he was gone, I looked down at George and weakly smiled down at him. “That should keep him busy,” I told him, bringing him to his rocker. “Now, I need you to stay here and behave. Do you think you can do that for me, George?”
Little George babbled senselessly into his bottle, kicking his tiny feet playfully. “Good boy,” I chuckled, carefully setting him in his swing and turning it on so that it would gently rock him back and forth. Thankfully, George had no problems with me this time around, and he allowed me to pull away while he contentedly sucked at his bottle.
Now without the eyes of William and his nanny lingering on me, I used the prime opportunity to enter his study again. I quickly opened up his laptop, which was still password protected, and on a whim I entered the same password I had last time. To my surprise, I was granted access. I could hardly believe a CEO didn’t have the vigilance to change his password after I’d already broken into it. It would have been funny had I not been in such a serious situation.
Quickly moving back to the assorted files I had delved into before, I searched for any important information that may relate to my father. As it turned out, the computer was overflowing with vital information, but the one that caught my eye the most was a document that was hearty with details about the arrest and imprisonment of my father. Why would

William have this? Was he celebrating my father’s imprisonment?
Deciding to search elsewhere, I diligently looked at the other programs on his personal computer and noticed a messaging application. Opening it up, I quickly scrolled through the plethora of contacts until I came across one simply named “Informant“. With my curiosity piqued, I clicked on the chat logs, brusquely scrolling through.
“Oh my god,” I whispered upon seeing the incriminating messages, for I could hardly believe my eyes. In front of me was an entire chat record of William feeding the informant information on my father, explicitly instructing him on what to do to say to the police to get my father arrested.
