[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke novel Chapter 319

Chapter 319: The Failed Healing

The entire Darkhelm castle was in uproar.

It wasn’t the same kind of frenzy as the wedding preparations just days before. This was the complete opposite of the joyous occasion.

Grief had coiled around the towering pillars, sinking into the very black stone of the castle as if it belonged there.

But then again, had it not always been here?

This oppressive rage was what they all had been witnessing for decades.

It was the arrival of the blessed healer who had turned the Darkhelm castle into a brightly lit home of happiness.

However, with this one incident, the lingering shadows of sorrow were back, pressing heavily onto the shoulders of the servants, forcing them to keep their heads down.

They dared not make any mistake as they hurried to do their assigned work.

In the center of this storm was Allen.

The Alchemist had been called urgently to check on Xion, and since then, it had been three hours.

This was the slowest, most agonizing time Darius had ever endured—even worse than the night his father whipped him and left him standing barefoot in the snow until dawn.

Darius felt utterly helpless and Allen wasn’t in any better condition either.

Other than giving His Grace the potions to strengthen Xion’s exhausted mana and body, he could offer no more help.

The hurricane that swirled in those venomous green eyes had Allen bow his head in shame.

"Why can’t we give him my eyes?! Is that not written in those ancient books you read?" Darius hissed, a bloody knife still clenched in his hand.

There was a deep wound just beneath his left eye, and if Allen hadn’t used his utmost strength to stop, that green eye would have been lying in his palm.

Behind the curtain, Xion’s chest barely rose and fell, as if even the act of breathing had become a struggle.

This sleeping person was the sole reason why Allen had grown so used to the gentle Archduke these past weeks. So much that he’d nearly forgotten the man’s true essence.

His Grace was generous just as he was cruel. However, there was no distinction between being cruel to others and himself.

With Xion’s accident, something had shifted in Darius. Though Allen couldn’t pinpoint exactly what, it was definitely not in a good direction.

With a silver dagger ready to gouge his own eye out and blood dripping down his sharp cheek before dripping down his sharp jawline, Darius looked almost deranged.

He was even more unhinged than before. Just the thought of it made his heart tremble.

Yes, Allen had indeed read something like transferring limbs and even tried it with a willing soldier but the results were disastrous.

Growing hands and legs was far easier than transplantation. But eyes were a different kind altogether.

Not to mention that Xion hadn’t truly lost them. Destroying his eyes for that tiny hope was truly not something worthy of consideration.

And now Allen had confirmed that for some reason, Xion’s body didn’t accept any other form of energy other than His Grace’s. fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm
