Caroline raised Dolly’s chin. “Tell me, why did you put on that act? And who ordered you to do that? 

“I–I don’t know. I don’t know anything.” Dolly shook her head, trying to break free from Caroline’s 

grasp. 

However, she immediately felt immense pain in her jaw. Caroline’s strength was utterly unlike that of a woman. 

“How about now?” Caroline glared at Dolly. The look in her eyes was terrifying. 

Somehow, Dolly noticed that she had the same intimidating air as Kirk. She couldn’t resist looking up at Kirk. 

Kirk’s eyes were cold as they followed Caroline’s movements from his spot a distance away. He wasn’t looking at her at all. It was as if he didn’t know her. But she was Avery’s friend!

“She transferred money to you?” Caroline let go of Dolly’s jaw. 

“Do you know what her account number is?” 

“I never checked, so I don’t know.” 

Charles then volunteered himself. “I’ll go ahead and investigate it, madam.” 

Caroline turned back to look at Charles, her gaze filled with distrust. 

Charles rubbed his nose awkwardly.

“The bank provides the transfer records “He was implying he couldn’t make a fake even if he wanted to. 

Caroline thought for a moment and felt it made sense, so she said, “How long do you need?” 

“Just a few minutes if they’re quick.” 

“We’ll wait for you here.” 

“Okay,” Charles said, and then he left the warehouse. 

Caroline and the rest remained in the warehouse. Dolly secretly glanced at Kirk, finally getting a chance to breathe after Charles left. But she was met with Kirk’s cold glare, and she lowered her head in fright. 

Soon, Charles returned. He handed the phone to Caroline and explained, “Here’s what I found. The account that transferred the money to this woman belongs to Daphne.” 

Dolly was stunned when she heard the name. Everything she had just said was what Avery had told her to say before she came here. 

Avery had said that she just needed to follow her instructions if she ever met Kirk, and everything 

would be fine. 

Therefore, she was still confused when she heard that the money was transferred from Daphne’s account. Could this Daphne be the actress who had participated in the audition today?
