Bound By Her Bump novel Chapter 38

Eric was not lying when he said keeping Annie's pregnancy a secret would be the hardest thing he will ever do.

There were days where he would be talking to his mom on the phone and would be tempted to spill the beans but then he would remember his promise to Annie.

Annie was also finding it difficult to keep her pregnancy a secret. She was just a little over two months and she already had a small well-defined bump which had been the reason for her baggy outfit. Keeping the news away from Ella, her best friend was even harder than she thought and because of that, she had been avoiding hanging out with her.

Thankfully, Evelyn, Eric's mom was not in charge of taking Annie's measurement for her wedding dress. She only designed it and was there for the fittings so Annie was able to hide the small bump from her soon to be mother in law.

They never wanted a bachelor or bachelorette party but their friends insisted they must have one. So both bride and groom-to-be have been separated for two nights now. Annie was with the girls; Ella, Elaina, Lucia, Claire, Laura, Melissa and a few close friends. They all occupied the luxurious guest house of the Ivan James mansion.

Angela, Evelyn and her sister Eva occupied the main house as they were busy with making sure everything was in order for the wedding. Eric made sure they were in charge of everything so Annie wouldn't have to go through any stress. She was only called upon when they needed her advice or opinion on the arrangement.

Eric was in Dylan's house with some other close friends. They had gone to the bar earlier tonight to have some fun but he was careful not to drink too much as he didn't want to end up misbehaving. Besides he had to be Sober because he would still have to talk to Annie tonight.

Annie sighed as she entered her bedroom. She was glad the girls finally released her. She had to tell them she was tired and needed her sleep so she won't have a tired face for her wedding tomorrow.

The first thing she did was to take a shower and change into her comfy pyjamas and then dialled Eric hoping he would pick up. They weren't able to talk to each other all day. She made sure she had the conversation in the bathroom so as not to be disturbed or to prevent anyone from eavesdropping.

It took a week for them to find out that Nora was aware of the pregnancy. Well, she didn't tell them exactly but her actions made them suspicious. She was more protective than ever over Annie and would always make sure she ate well.

After confessing that she overheard their conversation, she congratulated them and assured them that she wasn't going to say anything to anyone.

"My love, I miss you," Eric said softly.

"I miss you too handsome." She said to the other side.

"How are you? How was your day?" He asked.

"It was fine. The girls made my day. We spent the day talking and having fun, they organized a small bachelorette party for me and I got so many pre-wedding gifts from all of them."

"You?" She asked him how his day went.

"Pretty much the same. But instead of throwing a party for me, we went to Caleb's club to celebrate. But we didn't stay there for long." Caleb was Dylan's cousin and Eric's close friend.
