Bound By Her Bump novel Chapter 42

Annie smiled as she watched Eric cradle one of the boys to sleep. She couldn't tell which of her boys since his back was facing her.

Fortunately, everything went well during her pregnancy. She received so much love from everyone, most especially her husband, Eric, who kept up with her unusual demand and mood swings.

Annie gave birth to her twins naturally. It was indeed very painful but Eric was there to encourage her. She could remember seeing tears in his eyes when she was pushing.

Ethan Ryder Julian Ivan-James came out first. He was six pounds two ounces. Immediately the nurse placed Ethan on his mother's chest, he stopped crying and Annie's heart melted but unfortunately, she couldn't hold him for long because his younger brother wanted to come out so Annie had to push.

Immediately the nurse took Ethan back in her arms, he started crying again. Eric was torn between staying beside Annie and attending to Ethan.

Fortunately, Evan Ronan Sebastian Ivan-James came out almost immediately. He was Five pounds six ounces. Eric was asked to cut the cord which he did proudly.

Evan was placed on his Mother's chest while Eric went over to the nurse who was attending to Ethan. He placed one of his fingers in Ethan's hand and the little guy instantly wrapped his tiny hand around it.

Eric watched as the nurse took his footprints, cleaned him up and did a total check-up for the little guy.

As soon as they were done with Ethan, he was wrapped in a baby blue blanket and handed over to Annie who was happy to receive him. While the nurse and Eric cleaned Evan up.

The nurses helped Annie in cleaning up too after which she was transferred to her ward. She breastfed Evan before falling asleep while Ethan was given his formula.

Waking up to this beautiful view of her husband rocking one of her babies to sleep was truly a blessing.

One thing Annie was grateful for was that both her babies were fine, no complications whatsoever and she was perfectly fine too.

Eric smiled as soon as he saw Annie was awake. He took quiet steps towards her and kissed her. He took a seat beside her with Ethan in his arms. The little cutie was fast asleep already.

Annie smiled as she watched her baby in his father's arms. "He's so beautiful. They both look like you." She said to Eric and gestured towards Evan who was asleep in his crib.

"I know." He smiled. "And I love them so much. I now recognize them," he said proudly.

Eric found it a little bit difficult recognizing them at first. He had to check the baby tag on their leg to confirm if he was holding Ethan or Evan.

"Even though they have my hair and eye colour, Ethan's hair is darker while Evan's hair is lighter than Ethan's own. I know it's not a strong proof but with time I believe I'll be able to tell them apart. Besides, I think Ethan is clingy. Immediately you fed Evan and the nurse burped him, he dozed off but Ethan needed me to rock him to fall asleep. Not that I'm complaining though" He smiled.

"How are you?" He asked her.

"I feel very sore but I think it's all worth it." She smiled as she lovingly caressed Ethan's rosy cheeks. He looked so adorable sleeping in his father's arms.

"I think I should lay him down in his crib." He said and Annie nodded in approval.

She watched him as he stood up and gently laid Ethan in his crib. Eric came back to Annie, took a seat beside her and kissed her hand.

"Thank you for giving me these cute little munchkins."

Annie chuckled. "I can't believe we made them. They are so beautiful, so perfect. I want them to be like you when they grow up, Loving, responsible, handsome and successful." She confessed.

"Honestly, I thought being successful made me fulfilled but looking at our babies makes me feel more fulfilled. The feeling is so amazing. I have two people to look up to me and I promise to take care of the three of you."

"No doubt you'll be a good Father." She smiled at him and he placed a kiss on her lips.

Their little make-out session was interrupted by Doctor Myers who walked in with the happiest smile on his face.

"How is my favourite patient doing today?"

"Fine Thank you," Annie replied. She remembered a nurse saying Doctor Myers was off duty when she was brought to the hospital at midnight.

"Feeling better?" He asked Annie as he walked towards her bedside.
