The idea of crocheting portraits struck Janice out of nowhere. They could be used for wedding photos, memorial portraits, or personal collections. Each one would be handcrafted, unique, and impossible to replicate. The wealthy would undoubtedly love such an exclusive craft.
If successful, this could become a signature under Prosper Stitch Group.
"I'm heading out now."
Edwards stood up. "I'll walk you out."
"You've had wine. Stay home and rest. I'll spend some time refining this design, and if anything comes up, I'll call you."
After saying those words, Janice stepped outside.
"Janice."
She turned around.
Edward stood in the doorway, the cold wind cutting through the darkness around him.
His broad shoulders were further highlighted by his high-collared sweater. He remained motionless with his gaze fixed on her.
"You promised me. Don't look back."
Janice's chest tightened slightly.
As the snow drifted from the sky, she smiled and nodded. "A promise is a promise. I won't go back on my word."
…
That night, Janice returned home amidst the falling snow.
Jacob was there, but Shirley had already left. She had gone back home for New Year's.
"She didn't tell me she was leaving…" Janice was surprised.
"She said that you were busy with work. She told me to remind you to call her anytime if you need anything."
Janice thought back on how long her cousin had been in town and yet they hadn't had a proper shopping day together. She promptly transferred some money over to Shirley and added a message. "Visit when you have time."
"Janice, I've fully recovered. After New Year's, I need to head back to my university early to start my internship."
"You're already starting your internship?" Janice murmured.
Time flew by fast.
