Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 165

This news sent Refined Threads Co.'s stock price plummeting to rock bottom. At the same time, several of the shareholders tried to contact Janice, but she did not answer a single call.

It was because she saw Edward standing beside a Bentley on the roadside outside the National Crotchet Union.

For a moment, Janice thought she was hallucinating from not seeing him for so long.

It was only when she walked closer and the car's hazard lights flashed in her eyes that she confirmed he was really here.

"You weren't supposed to arrive until tomorrow morning, no?"

Dressed in all black, Edward was a stark contrast to her pristine white coat. Snowflakes dusted his shoulders, forming a thin layer.

The next second, he stepped forward, wrapped an arm around her waist, and pulled her into his embrace. "Why didn't you wait for me to come back?"

Edward knew her every move. It was not about distrust but concern that she might not be able to handle everything alone.

She chuckled and returned his embrace. "You've already helped me enough. Besides, it's just business—not a battlefield."

Withdrawing from Refined Threads Co. and exposing Simon for attempting to steal her crochet piece ensured that he could no longer call himself a leader in the crochet industry. Besides, he had no funds left to stir up trouble—unless he sold Refined Threads Co. and went to work for someone else.

Edward brushed the snow off her hair and led her into the car. Inside, the warmth wrapped around her instantly.

"You pulled out your shares, so he has no money left to pay you," Edward said.

Staring at the snowflakes falling against the window, she seemed lost in thought. "If he doesn't want to face legal consequences, he'll have to transfer his shares to me as compensation."

That would mean Refined Threads Co. would ultimately belong to her. Would Simon be willing to do that?

"Are you tired? You drank quite a bit tonight. Want me to make you something to eat?" Edward's gaze was fixed entirely on her.

She blinked. "Are you spying on me?"

"You smell like alcohol," he remarked.

"Oh."

She pondered for a moment. "Shall we go to your place?"

"Alright."

Back in Edward's home, Janice was truly exhausted. She did not help out in the kitchen and instead sat on the couch, video-calling Jacob.

"Janice, Simon is so prideful. He'd rather die than transfer his shares to you."

Edward happened to place a bowl of cereal on the table.

She smiled lightly. "Then let him die."

"I want to see Janice! If she doesn't come, I won't say a word!" Simon roared inside the police station.
