Jacob hurriedly signed the surgical consent form, but as he read the risks outlined on the page, his heart tightened. The thought of losing Janice filled him with fear. He grabbed the nurse's arm, his voice tight. "Is she going to be okay?"

"Please stay calm," the nurse said gently. "Ms. Smith's condition is unstable. A broken rib has punctured her lung, but we're doing everything we can."

Jacob sank down against the wall, his eyes fixed on the closed doors of the operating room. It felt like an eternity before footsteps echoed down the hallway. Robert was here.

Barbara rushed over, her eyes red and swollen. Robert wrapped his arms around her and gently patted her back. "It's going to be okay. They'll be fine."

Moments later, the police arrived. They nodded at Robert. "Mr. Moore, we found the car," one of the officers said. "But the driver denies being hired by anyone. The investigation will take some time."

Robert's expression turned grim. "If you can't even handle something this basic, how can the public trust you?" This was a simple case, so how could the police be struggling to solve it?

The officers immediately lowered their heads. "We'll get right on it," one of them said. They then showed Robert and Barbara the surveillance footage from Prosper Stitch Group.

Robert's brows furrowed together as he watched Janice push Barbara away without hesitation. "Three days," he said, his voice firm. "I want answers in three days."

The officers, clearly aware of Robert's influence, didn't dare slack off. "Certainly, Mr. Moore," they replied.

Robert saved the video, zooming in on the driver's face. He took a screenshot and sent it to his secretary.
