Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Someone wanted to buy Janice’s older doublesided crochet pieces

There were works she had quietly entered into competitions during the years she was with Simon, pieces she had screened out as not quite good enough to win. While they weren’t awardworthy, they were still highquality enough to perform well in smaller competitions

The offer is quite generous. If you don’t need them, why not sell them?Eleanor, the woman who had watched over Janice and Jacob since they were children, suggested kindly

Janice didn’t lack for crochet pieces now. Even if she needed any, she would prefer to create new ones. Holding onto discarded pieces served no purpose

Sell them,Janice agreed

But they mentioned something about a confidentiality agreement,Eleanor added

The mention of this made Janice immediately suspect that the buyer intended to use the pieces for competition. She didn’t mind.

Sign it, Eleanor.”

Those crochet pieces, while impressive, weren’t remarkable enough to reach the highest level. Eleanor agreed and ended the call

The next day, at the Refined Threads Co. headquarters, the meeting room was abuzz

Simon had received word that over a dozen doublesided crochet pieces had been successfully acquired. He personally joined the crochet department supervisors to review them, intending to select one for the Fall Tournament

Previously, with Janice around, Simon had never bothered with such matters. Now, he had to take charge himself

The pieces were laid out on the table, and the team began their evaluation. The senior supervisor at Refined Threads Co. quickly reached a consensus, selecting three standout pieces

Mr. Fitzgerald, these pieces are extraordinary! The craftsmanship is incredible!one of the veteran supervisors exclaimed excitedly

In Greenfield City, it was rare to find artisans capable of producing such highlevel doublesided crochet

Look at these! They could compete with international entries!”

Who made these? Where were they sourced?”

Simon inspected the selected pieces, acknowledging their quality

What they didn’t know was that one of the chosen works, Tapestry of Endless Horizons, was a piece Janice had discarded years ago during her personal screening process. She had opted instead for her Reversible Crimson Pheasant to enter an international competition, where it had earned a spot among the top ten designs

These weren’t sourced from Greenfield City but from Mr. Fitzgerald’s hometown in the Solterra,Alex explained

Solterra, with its flourishing crochet industry, was home to countless workshops. It wasn’t unusual to find hidden masters in such

areas

Simon finalized one of the pieces and was convinced that this would secure Refined Threads Co. a strong showing in the Fall

Tournament
