Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 235

In the office, Helena was throwing herself into a full melodrama, her voice cracking with frustration as she yelled, "Simon! This woman doesn't care about us at all! She slapped me and threatened me! How could you let someone so rude and disrespectful stay here? You need to dump her and tell her to get out!"

"Exactly, Simon," Sarah added. "You've got your own company now, but you can't even manage one woman? You need to set her straight! If that doesn't work, just kick her out and find someone who knows their place!"

Before Simon could respond, Elsie walked into the office, her gaze filled with disdain. "Oh, so you think I should just sit here and serve you two, huh? One of you is past your prime, and the other can't do anything but sit back and bark orders. Perhaps it's the two of you who should be the ones to leave."

Helena slapped the glass coffee table in frustration. "Simon, are you hearing this? Are you listening to what she's saying?"

Elsie casually dropped a pile of files on Simon's desk and met his eyes. "This is a company, not a circus. If it's always in chaos, how do you expect to run a business?"

"Simon, are you mute now?" Helena snapped, her temper flaring. "Say something—"

"Shut up!" Simon retorted.

In addition to dealing with Elsie, he was buried under the pressure of raising compensation money, confronting his infertility issues, and figuring out how to handle the looming crisis with Prosper Stitch Group. His mind was on the verge of breaking down.

"If you have nothing valuable to say, don't come back to my office," Simon growled, dismissing Helena and Sarah.

Helena stared at Simon in shock. "Simon, I'm your mother! How could you—"

Simon met her gaze. "Of course, I know you're my mother. Otherwise, I think we'd get into some kind of lifelong feud."

"What… What do you mean by that?" Helena asked, momentarily thrown off.

Simon narrowed his eyes. "When I was with Janice, you criticized her constantly, never giving her a moment's peace. When Amelia came along, you pressured her despite knowing how poor her health was. And now, you're picking fights with Elsie. Do you want me to be alone forever?"

"I... I never meant that..." Helena's voice wavered.

"Oh, come on, Simon." Sarah scoffed. "You were the one who kicked Janice and Amelia out and chose to end things with them. What does that have to do with us? Honestly, we only acknowledged them because they were with you."

"So now, you're the victims, huh?" Elsie shot back, disbelief flashing in her eyes. "What, don't you have hands of your own? Are you completely incapable of taking care of yourselves? If that's the case, maybe you should move into an assisted living home. Why should anyone cater to you? What makes you so special?"

Helena and Sarah were left speechless by Elsie's biting words.
