Simon had been repeating the same condescending remarks for years that nice felt she could recite them in her sleep. 

In the past, she might have simply nodded, accepting his criticism and promising to work harder. But now, seeing the smug satisfaction on his face, she found him nothing but 

past as the event officials were preparing to step forward and congratulate the winners, Janice spoke up, her voice calm but crystal clear. 

She said, “If a company is found purchasing high–level designs to compete, weld that disqualify them from all competitions for the next year?” 

The officials blinked, momentarily eight off guard, but one quickly nodded. “Yes, thur’s correct” 

Janice turned to Simon, smiling gently.

Janice stepped forward, calm and composed as ever, making her way toward the stage “oh, I have proof.” 

She handed a USB drive to the event officials. 

“This contams a time–lapse recording of the entire stitching process for the Desert Oasis crochet design, from the very first thread to the final detail. I’ve sped it up for easier review. Please verdys authenticity.” 

For any design that won first place, submitting a full, unedited recording of the crocheting process was standard protocol. But Simon hadn’t submitted one yet. 

His plan had been to bribe the officials afterward, fabricating a fake stitching video and submitting it quietly. He hadn’t expected this, Panic coded tightly in his chest.

Since there was no video, then there was no way to cover this up. And Siman definitely hadn’t expected Janice to have a recording of it. 

“How does she have that footage? Did she plant someone inside Refined Threads Co.? No… Did she fake the video to sabotage me?” he thought. 

Even now, he refused to believe the crochet design had any connection to Janice herself. In his mind, this had to be a ploy by Prosper Stitch Group, an elaborate scheme to take 

down and dominate the northern crochet market. 

The lootage wasn’t shown publicly but was taken backstage for a team of technical experts to verity. After about 20 minutes, they finally returned
