The maid had been taking out the trash when she spotted Amelia getting out of a car.

Amelia had been in the hospital for the past two days, and Zedrick had insisted on accompanying her. She was irritated but couldn't deny that she needed someone to take care of her.

Zedrick trailed behind her. "I got you a companion. You've been feeling sick and down lately, so you can take your frustration out on her."

"I don't need a companion," Amelia said coldly. "I don't want to stay here. Let me go home."

Zedrick shook his head. "You've got no one else to take care of you. Stay until you're better."

Amelia let out a wry smile. "Given how I am now, do you really think I'll ever get better?"

Her condition was deteriorating. Perhaps she wouldn't last much longer after Zedrick died. But she couldn't shake her worries for Adam. She had to leave something for him, even if it made her seem selfish and greedy.

Since Zedrick wanted to make amends, she would take whatever she could get.

"Fine. I'll stay here, but you have to give me this villa," Amelia said.

Zedrick nodded without hesitation. "Okay."

"Really?" Amelia hadn't expected him to agree so easily. She studied him for a moment before turning and entering the villa.

After walking further inside, Amelia spotted Sarah lounging on the couch in the living room.

With a swift kick, Sarah knocked over the foot bath, sending a maid sprawling to the ground.

"Are you trying to scald me, you idiot?" she shrieked. "Get out! You're useless! Just wait until I see your boss. I'll have you fired!"

Amelia recognized Sarah instantly. She hated her as much as she hated Simon and Helena. She couldn't believe Zedrick had chosen Sarah as her companion.
