“I’ve been with you for over three mouths! The company’s been through so much turmoll, and you’ve been fighting with Janice non–stop. Haven’t been the one by your side through it all?”

Echward leaned casually against the well, his sharp features softened by the warm glow of the overhead lamp.
“If you really want to make him lose it, there’s another way,” Edward said, his voice smooth.

Before this, Simon had only suspected that Janice might cory up to Edward. But now, seeing her standing outside Edward’s room Late at night, his suspicions felt fully confirmed.
How could she be so utterly self-
I–respectless?
Janice, already irritated and emboldened by a few drinks, wasn’t about to back down
*I’m just following your example, Simon. Birds of a feather, right? You’ve done far worse without an ounce of shame. Compared to you, I’m practically a saint”
So, you admit it, huh? You’re just shamelessly throwing yourself at him?” Simon’s voice rose, his face flushing with fury
“Looks like my previous warning didn’t leave much of an impression on you, Mr. Fitzgerald.” Edward’s different one froze Simon in place.
Simon’s heart sank, his frustration boiling beneath the surface as he bit his lip
Why was Edward so intent on defending Janice?
Couldn’t he see that she wasn’t worth anything?
“Mr. Moore, I’m saying this for your good. You shouldn’t let someone like Janice a selfish, money–hungry woman–tam us into enemies. Besides, I’ve already contacted Ms. Olson. She has agreed to sell me her crochet design Mr. Moore, I urge you to reconsider your position carefully.”
Simon was convinced Edward wouldn’t let a woman jeopardize his business. There was no way.
But his words cut into Janice like knives.
After all the years she had stood by him and all the sacrifices she had made, didn’t any of it mean anything? How could he always be so cruel and venomous with his words? Looking at Simon’s hated expression, rice suddenly remembered what Edward had said earlier.

“Edward and I are in a proper relationship. So, Mr. Fitzgerald, I suggest you watch your mouth. Haven’t you heard the saying, “Disaster comes from the mouth‘?”
Edward lowered his gaze slightly, his eyes flickering with faint anument.
He went along with her effortlessly, wrapping an arm around her shoulder with ease. To top it off, he reached up and tucked a stray lock of her hair behind her ear. His gesture was so smooth and nature that it felt entirely real
What?
