Chapter 72
“Why would she keep something like this hidden for so long? She’s my lucky
muma thought gleefully.
“It’s the end of the year, and we should visit the Moores. They will surely propose mariage when Smithy decides to reveal her identity,” she suggested.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself. I’ve been hearing some news from Greenfield City, Il serms Edward has someone he’s interested in.”
1.” Gregory cautioned.
“You mean Janice Smith, who Smithy mentioned? Smithy showed me her details, and she’s just an ordinary person with no power or influence.
“It’s normal for young men to have admirers, but there’s no way the Mooves would agree to their marriage with someone of her status.”
Gregory nodded in agreement. That did seem to be the case

A week later, Janice hurried to finish traming her crochet design at Prosper Stitch Group. As she entered the office, she received an update from her Lawyer.
“I don’t know who intervened, but the prosecutor’s office has decided to re–investigate the case
Re–Investigate? Janice frowned. Who had Simon gotten to help him now?
A simmering anger began to rise within her.
Meanwhile, m a different corner of Prosper Stitch Group, Heidi answered call from Simon Ms. Olsen, Janice is bound to suffer a loss now that we have your help!”
“Didn’tite” you not to mention anything about me being Shirley Olson?” Heidi asked sharply.
Simon traze. When he realized Heidi wanted to maintain her anonymity, he corrected himself, “Right my mistake. Today’s the day Prosper Stitch Group selects its tournament entries, isn’t it, Ms. Ryan?”
Heidi responded with an acknowledging hum. She exchanged glances with the company executives she passed, particularly supervisors of the crochet department.
Over the past month, she’d been busy building connections and learning the ins and outs of Prosper Stitch Group.
Being new, Janice hadn’t had time to win over the supervisors, while Heidi had secured their votes with just a litle bribery.
She scoffed at the rumor that Janice had created a new crochet design. It seemed all the latter’s hard work would go to waste
Heidi reminded Simon, “Don’t forget my instructions.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t have to lift a finger to tarnish Janice’s reputation.”
As Heidi hung up, she strutted into the conference room in high heels.
Janice had Jacob have a classmate investigate who was alding Simon. Then, she carried her crochet design into the conference room.
As she walked through the hallway, employers stepped aside and shared the same thought. It seemed Janice was ready to unleash her fury Her gaze was calm yet intimidating
