Barbara was somewhat surprised. “Haw you studial this? This is certainly not just simple mending.” 

Janice glanced back at Edward. He gave a small, almost imperceptible nod, signaling his approval 

As she stepped up to the platform, Janice quickly assessed the silk textile artifact on the table. It appeared to be the clothing of a historical figure, likely a queen or noblewoman from a bygone empire.

“To be honest, Mrs. Moore, I’ve participated in a restoration project before, so I do know a bit about this Since there’s no one else here, I know various stitching methods. If you could guide me, I’d be happy to assist,” Janice said. 

Barbara was taken aback.

“Well go ahead then!” Barbara snapped out of her shock and gestured for Janice to proceed. 

Janice proceeded with a series of preparations for the restoration work. As Barbara watched her, she couldn’t help but notice how skilled and familiar Janice was with the process. The elders of the Moore family were surprised. They hadn’t expected Edward’s girlfriend to be somewhat of a peer in their field 

Held munered, “Ms. Smith, these textile artifacts are fragile. They’re as delicate as paintings or manuscripts, one wrong move, and you could ruin it. Be careful, because even Edward can’t help you if something goes wrong.” 

Janice sat down, pot on her mask, and took up the restoration tools. She glanced at Heidi and said, “Don’t worry. I’m not going to make the mistake of mixing up the silk threads like someone else I know.” 

Heidi’s face turned pale at the remark. The memory of the time she mixed up the silk threads while working on the restoration of the King George boots flooded her mind, and she malized how close she came to making a serious mistake.
