Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 318

As Aiden was about to leave, Emma suddenly stopped him, "Aiden, can you hang on a sec?"

A glimmer of hope flashed through Aiden's heart. He turned around, looked firmly at Emma and said, "What's up?"

"Aiden, I want you to convince your parents, so they won't fight me for Jasmine's custody. I’ll have my lawyer include it in the divorce agreement." Emma said.

Aiden was taken aback for a moment, then nodded, "Don't worry about it. They won't compete with you for Jasmine." His parents were actually looking forward to Jasmine's arrival, why would they fight with her?

"Well, that's good. I'll have my lawyer send the revised agreement to your office as soon as possible." Emma said.

"Alright." Aiden agreed and then left. Emma loosened her grip on the corner of the blanket she had been clutching, staring blankly at Jasmine in her arms. Tears quietly fell from the corners of her eyes as she thought to herself, "Baby, I hope you don't blame me for doing this. Your dad doesn't love me and your grandparents aren't welcoming you either. We won't be happy with them. It's enough for us to live together in the future. I'll take good care of you, I promise."

After Aiden left, a group of people came in. Ines saw Emma holding Jasmine, quietly crying, and gently hugged her, comforting her, "You've got to stay strong. This too shall pass."

"Jasmine was born without a father. I failed her. It's my fault that things have turned out this way." Emma said.

Ines gently patted her shoulder, "What's done is done. Jasmine will still have Ethan and me. We're all family. Did you come to an agreement with Aiden?"

"Yes, we have. He will sign the divorce agreement as soon as possible. Jasmine is mine, but he can visit anytime he wants." Emma said calmly.

Ines glanced at Jasmine, the little one was blissfully unaware that her parents got divorced the moment she was born. Her childhood was already different from other kids, filled with an irreparable regret.

"I don't know what to say to comfort you right now. But since you've made the decision, you need to plan your future well. Being a single mom is tough, your life will be harder than others." Ines said.

Emma nodded, "I know. I've thought it through. I know what divorce implies. But if you look at my current situation, it's not much different from after the divorce. The only difference is that there's still a man's name on my marital status. Besides that, there's no difference."

"Izzy, Emma seems to have it all figured out. We don't need to worry too much about her. She's still young and has a long life ahead of her. Maybe she'll meet someone who truly loves her. Missing out on a guy like Aiden is no big deal." Silas said, frowning.

"Indeed, I might find true love, or maybe not." Emma gently pinched Jasmine's cheek, and said indifferently.

Seeing Emma's attitude, Ines didn't say anything, but asked, "Do you plan to hire a nanny or leave Jasmine to Eda?"

"I want to hire a nanny. You've transferred so many shares to me, and my financial situation is not as difficult as it seems. There aren't many servants at home, and if Eda has to take care of the whole house and also look after Jasmine, she'll be overwhelmed." Emma said.

Ines nodded, "I'll have someone recommend a good one to you. The nanny we hired is very professional, organized and efficient."
