Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 336

Ines’ mood swings were faster than a roller coaster ride. By the time she got home, she was back to her usual self. She kicked off her shoes and padded barefoot into the living room, flopping comfortably onto the couch.

"Home sweet home," she sighed.

Even though she had only been away for two days, there was no place like home. The thick carpet under her feet was a familiar comfort. Ethan didn't stop her, just put her shoes away and then sat down next to her. Ines smiled and laid her head on his lap out of habit. He pinched her cheek and asked, "Tuckered out?" She had been busy all weekend.

Tossing Ethan's hand between her fingers, she smirked, "Thanks to the two rugrats, I can sleep anywhere, anytime. It's not physical tiredness, just a bit mentally drained."

"It's okay, you'll get better after some rest."

Ethan gently massaged Ines' limbs, noticing she had been visibly swollen lately, especially her lower body. He couldn't help but ask with concern, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just sometimes I have a bit of trouble breathing."

"Izzy, you've been pushing yourself too hard lately. You haven't been eating well. What do you want to eat? I'll whip it up for you tonight." Ethan wasn't a romantic guy, but he wanted to treat his wife, so he decided to cook her a nice meal.

"Can I eat anything I want?" Ines smiled, pleased with his offer.

"Just not junk food, okay?"

Ines' smile froze. The exact thing she wanted was junk food, "Then I'd better not say. You'll definitely veto it."

Ethan was curious, "How do you know I wouldn't agree if you didn't say anything?"

"Ethan, I want pickled chicken wings." Ines looked at Ethan seriously.

"You mean the store-bought ones?"

"Well, not exactly. Those are too spicy and not salty enough. I want the really salty ones. I had them once before and they were delicious."

Ethan frowned, "I haven't seen those in the store, but I think they're probably loaded with salt and not very healthy."

Ines looked a little disappointed, but insisted, "They aren't that salty."

Ethan found it a little amusing. He'd noticed Ines' changing tastes since her pregnancy. He thought for a moment, "What if we made our own pickled chicken wings? That way we can control the salt content, right?"

Ines quickly nodded, dragging out her words, "Of course, homemade pickled chicken wings wouldn't have as much salt, definitely."

Ethan nodded back, "Alright then, I'll find someone to get better chicken wings and personally marinate them for you."

Ines sat up excitedly and planted a kiss on Ethan's cheek, "Great, I'll be waiting for your masterpiece."
