"Don't sweat it, Rita's been feeling pretty well lately, not a hint of discomfort. Joy is expecting too, and she's going nuts looking up recipes online every day and making me cook them. I've got enough recipes to last me half a month now."
Ines found this amusing, Rita was so funny, she couldn’t cook herself and had to get her husband to do it.
"Looks like Rita is a cool mother-in-law."
"Actually, Rita is a softie inside, if anyone talks smack about Joy behind her back, she would go head-to-head with them. She always backs up Joy, but she feels upset when she comes back home after an argument. Seeing her like this, Joy also feels down. Luckily, Joy realized that she had been arguing for her sake, so there wasn't any wedge driven between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law."
Ines thought this was hilarious, Rita was becoming more and more childlike.
After playing for a while, Bella dozed off again. Even though Rita was reluctant, she had to put her in the crib so she could sleep more comfortably.
The Meyer family arrived pretty early too, Lauren brought some homemade soup with her.
As soon as Ashley walked in, she asked loudly, "Where are the kids?"
With an air of resignation, Lauren knocked her lightly, "Pipe down. You'll scare the babies."
Ashley stuck out her tongue, then found the two sleeping darlings and touched their soft little faces, exclaiming, "Wow, this is amazing."
Seeing her daughter acting so childish, Lauren couldn't help but laugh. Ashley kept playing with the two kids until she woke Oliver up, and he started crying loudly. Ashley immediately picked him up and paced around the room, but Oliver was not affected at all. No matter how Ashley tried to soothe him, she couldn't get Oliver to stop crying. In the end, she had to hand him over to Ethan, "Ethan, your son is a real crybaby. You deal with him."
Today was Ines' first day after giving birth, she didn't have much breast milk, and it was all gone after Bella had her fill. Ethan had no choice but to continue feeding him formula; Oliver cried while eating and only fell asleep after he was full and tired from crying.
Ashley patted her chest, "Looks like they're only cute when they're asleep. Once they wake up, they're all noise and chaos."
Everyone laughed at her joke, and Jacob couldn't resist laughing, "You were just like Ollie when you were little, crying while eating. Your cries were no quieter than his."
"Dad, was I really like that?" Ashley looked at Jacob curiously.
Jacob nodded, "You can ask everyone, were you not like that?"
Ashley looked at Erica and Ethan, both of whom nodded.
Ashley laughed, leaned her head on Ethan's back, and wrapped her arm around his neck, "Looks like it's in the Meyer family genes, kids don't take after their parents, but other relatives. Ethan, you really drew the short straw."
Ethan was just like Jacob, and now this Oliver was like her.
Ethan put her hand down, frowning, "You're all grown up now, still like doing this. Don't you find it annoying?"
"See, see, you're just like my dad when you lecture." Ashley was always the sunshine of the family; wherever she was, it was filled with laughter.
Ethan noticed it was getting late, and he expected more people to come soon, so he sent Rita and Zander back to their new home first.
