Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 382

The hospital initially suggested Ines to stay for a week, but Ines recovered fast and the babies were healthy.

Ethan, exhausted from the waves of visitors, decided to end the hospital stay after four days and took Ines and the babies back to the Meyer Mansion.

Rita and Zander also moved directly to the Meyer Mansion, planning to stay for a few more days before leaving. Ines didn't expect Rita to be so easygoing. As soon as she suggested it, they agreed, "Rita, aren't you in a hurry to go back to your students?"

"Didn't anyone tell you that Zander and I have resigned?"

"You resigned?" Ines looked at Rita in surprise. This didn't seem like something Rita and Zander would do. She knew better than anyone how much they loved their jobs.

Rita nodded with a smile, seemingly not regretting the decision, "Yes, we submitted our resignations half a month ago, and we officially left last week."

"So sudden?"

"We're not young anymore, and I don't want our health to affect the children's exams. It's the right time to resign and let the younger, more energetic teachers take over."

Despite the fulfillment Rita felt from guiding students, she wasn't as energetic as she used to be. After careful consideration, she decided to resign.

Ines was naturally thrilled about their early retirement, "I'm glad you're thinking this way. You should retire and enjoy life now. After all, being a teacher is not an easy job."

Rita held Ines' hand, "I realized after the last illness that now that Joy is pregnant, I'll help you take care of the children in the future."

"Great, I've already told Jeffery to have you move to A City. That way, you're close to me and Joy's mother, and it'll be more convenient."

Rita glanced at Ines, "If I live with you every day, won't you find me annoying?"

"Of course not, didn't I live with you for over five years? I never found you annoying, at most we occasionally argued, and I usually conceded first."

"That was different. You were single and a workaholic then, and we were busy too. Now you're married with kids. We're bound to have disagreements about raising the kids, and I'll be watching you all the time. Over time, I'm sure we'll argue."

Ines looped her arm through Rita's, "Alright, let's stop talking about this. Just live here for now."

Erica had initially hired a nanny, but with only two babies in the Meyer family and Zander around, the babies mostly just ate and slept. The idle folks at home all helped out with the babies.

Ethan liked to do things himself, so he also spent a lot of time taking care of the babies.

Erica temporarily told the nanny not to come, as Ines' breast milk wasn't sufficient for the twins.

Ethan smiled, sat on the edge of the bed, and looked at Ines puzzled, "What's wrong? Is it too hard to take care of the two kids at home?"

Ines shook her head, sat up, and clung to Ethan's arm lamenting, "It's not hard to take care of the kids. Most of the time it's the family taking care of them, and I don't do it that often. I just feel like a dairy cow, constantly eating just to produce more milk."

Hearing this, Ethan couldn't help but laugh, his voice still charming, "Who compares themselves to a dairy cow?"

"I feel like I am right now." Ines huffed lightly.

"I need to check closely to see if our Ines has really become as fat as a dairy cow."

As Ethan spoke, his large hands reached under the covers and touched directly toward her slender waist.

Ines was startled but laughed as she pushed his hand away."Stop messing around. It tickles."

"I've checked, and I can tell you for sure, our Ines is definitely no cow. Ever seen a cow this petite?"

Ines shot Ethan a look, a faint smile playing around her lips. She obviously liked hearing that kind of talk, and it drove away most of her gloom.
