"Ethan, do you think I've become more melodramatic and sensitive?" Ines realized that she only wanted to hear words of praise. Any criticism from him wasn't welcome.
"No, I don't think so. Even if you're a bit emotional, it's only when you're around me. You're not like this with others, so there's nothing to worry about." Ethan said.
Ines felt relieved after hearing Ethan's words. She became more comfortable expressing her feelings in front of him.
"But Izzy, you seem to be losing weight quickly. Your skin also looks better than before." Ethan said.
"It's because I've been having so much soup every day, I've hardly eaten any solid food. I'm already full at mealtime and can't eat anymore. This is definitely going to make me lose weight." Ines said. She had a bit of fat around her waist at the beginning, but after a few days, she lost a lot of it.
"You haven't been eating properly?" Ethan became serious. Due to his workload at the hospital, he had been quite busy recently. Even when he got off work on time, he usually missed dinner at home, so he rarely ate with everyone else.
Ines knew Ethan was worried, so she laughed and said, "The stuff I have every day is more nutritious than anything else. I have enough for me and the twins. You don't need to worry about me not getting enough nutrients."
Ethan thought about it and felt relieved. With so many people looking after her at home, there was no doubt that Ines would recover. Otherwise, this woman, who was usually patient, wouldn't be complaining to him so much.
Seeing Ethan stay silent, Ines said, "Ethan, could you please talk to my aunt? Tell her to stop watching me all the time. I want to take this opportunity to read some books, spend some time on the computer or whatever. Otherwise, I'll definitely have a breakdown."
"Why don't you talk to her yourself?" Ethan asked.
"I tried, but it didn't work. Rita still watches me like a hawk." What was worse was that she even took away her computer and confiscated her phone, only letting her touch it when someone called. They were worried that she'd get hurt somehow.
Since this was related to Ines' health, Ethan wouldn't indulge her. Instead, he joined in persuading, "Rita is more experienced, just listen to her. She's your aunt, and she wouldn't harm you on purpose."
Ines was upset by his words. She glared at Ethan and raised her voice, "Ethan, they're too conservative, and now you're acting just like them. There's no need to be this strict. I can control myself. I won't risk my health or the babies'. Their strict rules are too extreme and unreasonable."
"There's no room for negotiation on this matter. I agree with them." Ethan didn't back down and stared right back at Ines.
Ines was furious and annoyed. She threw off the covers and rolled herself up in the blanket, leaving only her head exposed. It seemed that she didn't plan on sharing the blanket with Ethan tonight.
Ethan looked at her and remembered the first time they shared a bed. She did the same thing then, wrapping herself up in the blanket, thinking it would prevent him from doing anything.
Ethan shook his head and went to take a shower. When he came out, Ines was still in the same position.
Ethan raised an eyebrow. Was she really mad? Her anger still hadn't subsided.
Ethan walked around the foot of the bed to Ines' side and saw her eyelashes trembling slightly. She was clearly not asleep, so he just stared at her.
Ethan nodded and watched Ines walk away. He noticed that her shoulders were shaking slightly, clearly still laughing.
Ethan couldn't help but laugh, but suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his back. Indeed, love was a dangerous thing.
Ines was just planning to go downstairs to grab some medicine when she realized that everyone was still up. As she came down, Erica asked, "Izzy, how come you're still up this late?"
"Well, it's not that late, is it? You guys aren't asleep yet, right?" Ines replied.
"We slept a ton during the day so we're not tired yet." Erica said.
Ines spotted Zander lounging around in the living room. She suddenly remembered that he knew some basic massage techniques, and she asked, “Zander, Ethan seems to have twisted his back. Can you check on him?”
Rita was taken aback and asked worriedly, “Wasn’t he perfectly fine when he got back? How did he suddenly twist his back?”
Ines blinked subtly and vaguely explained, “I think he slipped in the bathroom while showering and hurt his back.”
“Didn't you guys have a non-slip mat in your bathroom? Did you remove it?" Rita asked.
