Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 470

“Izzy, take advantage of Ethan’s absence and spend some quality time with the babies,” Camela suggested with a smile.

At that moment, Ivy toddled over to her. Ines tried to pull her out from the walker, but the little girl was squirming like a fish out of water. Ines had no choice but to put her back.

“You little brat, I’ve only been gone for a day, but you’re already causing me trouble.”

Ivy didn’t seem to care. She turned her attention to her baby walker and set off to find her brother.

Ines shook her head. Her daughter was clearly doing this on purpose. She always headed towards her to tease her.

“By the way, Grandpa, where is everyone else? I haven’t seen Ashley or Lauren. How are they doing?”

Seeing Ines in good spirits, Phillip felt relieved. “Izzy, as long as you’re okay, everything will be fine. Ethan is in my care, so he won’t be in trouble. You just need to take care of yourself these days. Lauren is very resilient. She’s been in her art studio.”

“Ashley is in her room. She’s still young and is understandably heartbroken. She hasn’t come downstairs all day. I’ve been bringing her meals.”

Ines knew how much Ashley relied on their father. This was bound to upset her. “Grandpa, I’ll go up and talk to her. We can’t solve Jacob’s problems overnight. She can’t keep doing like this.”

Grandpa nodded. “Go ahead. She’s closer to you. She might listen to you.”

As Ines was about to go upstairs, Aaron walked in. He was still in his office suit, clearly coming straight from work.

It had been a while since they last met. Aaron still had his warm smile, always making people feel at ease.

“Phillip, I came to check on you. I haven’t visited you since I got back.”

“You could just come, no need for gifts. But you’re right. It’s been quite some time since your last visit.” Phillip grumbled, inviting him to sit.

Aaron grew up in the Meyer Mansion. Phillip always treated him like his own grandson.

Aaron laughed, not refuting. Because of his falling out with Ethan, he stopped being a frequent visitor to the Meyer family. After returning from A City, he found out about Ashley’s feelings for him. Despite his reservations, he agreed to give their relationship a try. However, he felt guilty for developing feelings for Ashley, because he’d watched her grow up. He knew the Meyers’ wouldn’t want Ashley to marry someone much older, so he was hesitant to visit too often.

Ines, having known Aaron for a long time, could guess what was going on. Sensing Aaron’s unease, she greeted him, “Aaron.”

“Izzy, I heard about Ethan. Don’t be too upset. It’s not a big deal. He’ll be fine.”
