Silvia’s affairs were completely unbeknownst to Ines. Ines had been living a fulfilling life these past few days; she had been working diligently during the day, spending her evenings with Ethan, and teaching their two little angels to call her “Mama”.

With Ethan around, their little girl, Olivine, was surprisingly well-behaved, not throwing any tantrums as she used to.

Things at the Galeana Group were sailing smoothly. Everything was moving in a positive direction.

Apart from the matter of Russel, there were no other worries to plague Ines’ mind.

While Ines was busy with her paperwork, she suddenly heard Silas speaking rather irritably into the phone. “Don’t let him up here. Ms. Ines will not see him. Never let him up here. Blacklist him.”

Ines had rarely seen Silas this furious. She had no idea who had enraged him so. “Silas, you need to keep your temper in check at your age. It’s not good for your health. Who’s trying to see me and causing such a storm in your teacup?”

“Who else could it be, if not Aiden? Currently, he’s the person I detest the most. I put up with him visiting Jasmine, given that she’s his daughter. But if he comes to the company and disturbs me, absolutely not.” Silas was visibly fuming.

Seeing Silas in this state reminded Ines of her own father, who had passed away before she could recover her memory. If she had regained her memories earlier, she mused, she wouldn’t have been so harsh on him.

Detecting the slight change in Ines’ expression, Silas assumed his domineering decision had upset her. “Izzy, I apologize. I should ask you before having Aiden thrown out.”

Ines gave a small laugh. “Silas, I’m not upset with you. I was just thinking of my father, and it made me a little sad.”

“That’s good. If your father were still here, who knows how he would deal with Aiden? He certainly wouldn’t let Aiden bounce around so freely.”

Just as Silas finished speaking, a flurry of voices came from outside, accompanied by the sound of high heels clicking on the floor. “Mr. Aiden, please go down. Ms. Ines has made it clear she won’t see you. You’re putting me in a difficult position. If Ms. Ines investigates this, I might lose my job.”

The receptionist recognized Aiden. Emma had often flaunted their relationship in the past. However, she was also aware that they had split up and that the Galeana family members had no favorable impressions of him now.

“Stop blocking me. I just need to say a few words.” That was Aiden’s voice.

A frown creased Ines’ forehead as Aiden pushed open the door, marching directly towards her. “Izzy, I have some things to discuss with you.”

“Sorry, Ms. Ines, Mr. Aiden insisted on barging in, and I couldn’t stop him.” The receptionist was visibly panicked and avoided making eye contact with Ines.

Just as Silas was about to speak up, Ines stopped him and said, “Lola, you can leave now. Be more reactive in the future, and don’t hesitate to call security if things get out of hand.”

“I understood. I’ll keep that in mind.” The receptionist nodded. Her head bowed. Then she promptly exited the room.
