Chapter 77
Trotundo was once a legend in the fashion world.
Years ago, as prestigious luxury brands were fading under the weight of tradition, unable to keep up with the evolving trends of the new generation, it was the 25–year–old Leonardo who stepped in, taking matters into his own hands. He crafted a new line of clothes and bags that perfectly captured the zeitgeist of the modern era. His designs saved these old brands from disaster, reviving them and ushering the fashion world into a
Now, at 33, Leonardo had been in the industry for over a decade. Despite his years, he still looked youthful and handsome. In the fashion world, people called him “Master“-a tile that reflected his unshakable, exalted position
His protege. Sally, was the person he most admired, but there was also Zora–Flaine. Leonardo had once seen Elaine as his heir, his successor. But Elaine was too unconventional, too rebellious. She wasn’t someone to be confined to one industry, and that caused a complex mix of love and frustration for Leonarda.
Elaine, for her part, hadn’t responded to the older man’s feelings in quite some time. She had walked away from the Yeats family, and now, with her return to the world of fashion, she was determined to reclaim the glory that had once been hers
“Yes, Master, I’ve returned to Hosgland,” Elaine replied when she uw Leonardo’s message
“I knew it Leonardo responded, his words warm with nostalgia. Zora. I’ve always said you’re a diamond that can never be tarnished. Even though I haven’t seen you in years, I knew that someday, you’d return. And now, here you are.”
Flame felt a pang of guils as she read his message. She had abandoned so much when she left the Yeats family. But now that she had returned to her true self, she was ready to reclaim what was rightfully hers.
Leonardo continued, “This year, I’m preparing for a Spring/Fall Haute Couture show in Hosgland. I’m in need of a model for the closing walk. Zora. Id like to invite you”
Elaine was momentarily stunned. That was a twist she hadn’t expected. It was almost as if she had no choice but to agree. Yet, deep down, she knew that agreeing to this meant exposing herself eventually. She was bound to be unmasked
But, having already made up her mind to no longer be Blanca’s shadow, she didn’t care.
“Alright, I’ll do it, Elaine said, her decision made.
After a brief chat with Leonardo, she returned to the website, only to find herself bombarded with private messages. One was from a familiar face- Venom
Elaine remembered Venom well. They had worked together on a major hacking incident years ago. Anorland, a notorious group of hackers, had launched a brutal attack on Hosgland, but Venom and Flaine had teamed up to break through their defenses. They had hijacked the hackers network, leaving them with a year–long blackout.
The incident had caused a massive stir on the site, cementing both of their reputations, Venom’s message was simple. “Velvet, you’re back?” Elaine grinned and replied with a single word, “Yeah.”
Venom didn’t reply. Both were men of few words, but when they worked together, their collaboration was flawless.
Then, there was another message, this one from an unfamiliar user with the ID “Stormstrike.”

“Velvet, they’re all saying you’re a big shot. You’d better prove it. If you take on the latest Level 4 mission, I’ll believe you’re the real deal. What do your say?
Elaine rolled her eyes. Storstrike’s tone reminded her far too much of her troublesome brother, Trevon.
“Trevon. I swear,” Elaine muntered under her breath, How could anyone he so obnoxious!
Stormstrike, sensing no response, pressed on, “What’s wrong? You scared?”
Then he added, “Let’s make a bet–let’s see who’s better, you or Nocturne. I don’t know who you are in real life, but Nocturne is the real deal” Elaine w
was fed up. She responded curtly. “Not my problem, not yours, got it?
Without hesitation, she blocked him. She had never seen such a delusional fan. A fan war, of all things, had somehow ended up on her doorstep. Trevon, still fuming from being ignored, was about to take to the forum to rant when a response caught his eye.

“What? You dare question Velvet’s abilities? You’d better delete that comment now, or you’ll be the laughing stock of the forum. I’m doing this for your own good!”
The replies flooded in, ridiculing him mercilessly. The support for Velvet was overwhelming. Trevon had no words left, and for the first time, he felt completely out of his depth. Velvet had fans everywhere. How could he argue with that?
Elaine didn’t care to stay on the site any longer. She was hungry. She had only had a pack of milk earlier, and she was still growing. She needed something more substantial.
As she made her way downstairs, she ran into Abbot and Grace
“Elaine Abbot greeted her warmly.
