Camp Closeted novel Chapter 19

Being bunk mates with Jesse was now incredibly awkward for me. Jesse was effortless in ignoring me and I couldn't say the same for myself.

I found myself always having to look at him for some reason and he knows I probably do. I just couldn't help but feel extremely bad for the way I have treated him so far.

These past few days in the camp have been a little too crazy and it's been completely different than what I'm usually used to.

I'm surprised it's been way easier to talk to people here than talk to the people in high school, but at the same time, I'm really not.

I rapidly tensed up as Jesse's immaculately shirtless self dropped down from his bed, making me hide my face deeper under my blanket as he didn't bother looking back at me.

It was the next day and the bonfire was meant to be tomorrow. I didn't quite know how to feel about going with Logan but I do like him, as a friend.

As I shuffled around my bed, I couldn't help but feel something sharply scrape against my back.

It was a note.

I felt myself let out an unnerved exhale as I quickly grabbed it and read it.

"You will be one hell of a person to try and ruin. I'll see to it that I make sure that happens." -Lover Boy

What in the cringey Pretty Little Liars shit is this?

I looked around, not catching anyone stare at me suspiciously as I read the note.

Who the hell could this be? I reread the note over and over again as I felt a wave of unsettling emotions come over me.

This has to be a joke. It's probably just a prank.

All of a sudden, my eyes widened as the loud noise of what sounded like a horn emitted itself from outside.

The noise was so incredibly loud that I watched it catch everyone's attention from inside the cabin. I watched Benny begin to tiptoe towards me as the sun shoved itself from the window. "Micah, get up, you need to see this bullshit. It happens every year." His voice fell into a loud cackle as he gestured me to follow him.

I didn't bother throwing on a shirt as I followed him outside. "Wait see what?" I whispered sharply. "What was that noise?"

"You're about to find out." Benny tried to contain his ongoing laughter as we finally walked out the cabin.

And there he was, Posh, standing on a tall pedestal, his outfit luxuriously extra as ever. His sunglasses shimmered as 1 hand carried a mic and the other carried a piece of paper. Milan and Cadence stood beside him dressed in all black as Posh was the only one who was on a pedestal.

"Gather around everyone!" Posh commanded, his high pitched voice echoing into the microphone. "This is a very special day and I think it's important that everyone witnesses the greatness that's about to happen to me."

"Benny what is going on?" I asked quietly, using my hand to block the bright scorching sun away from my face as I followed Benny into the large group of people that surrounded Posh.

"Just listen, you're gonna die." Benny hushed, pulling me next to him as I got a clear view of Posh. "This is gonna show you how depressing Posh really is."

Posh's bright fluffy red fur coat engulfed his small body whole as he coughed, pulling his red sunglasses closer to his face. "As you all may know, the bonfire is tomorrow night." He turned towards Milan as he squeaked in excitement, Milan returning it with a squeak himself. "So I would like to take the time out of everyone's unimportant day, to give Dallas the chance to do his proposal that's he's been working on about asking me out to this year's bonfire!"

How absolutely pathetic. This can't be real.

All eyes immediately turned towards Dallas, including mine, everyone remaining dead silent as Dallas looked completely and utterly confused, making Posh speak again.

"You have been thinking about asking me out to the bonfire, right Dallas?" Posh's pompous voice slightly increased in volume as he said his name.

Dallas took a long time to respond as he looked around at everyone confused and humiliated. "Y-yea, sure, of course." His voice let out softly.
