Chapter 0148
Just as Dylan reached the door, he saw Diana being wheeled out of surgery.
Before he could ask, the doctor informed him, “The operation went well, Mr. Wright, but she’s not entirely out of danger yet. She’ll need to be monitored in the ICU for the next couple of days.”
Once Diana was settled in the ICU, Dylan leaned over to Desmond and whispered something to him.
Desmond nodded and immediately left.
Victor, watching the exchange, couldn’t resist asking, “Why so secretive?”
Instead of answering directly, Dylan said, “Contact T. I want her to help me track down the culprit.“”

Victor raised an eyebrow. “You know I’m in the business of finding people, right? Why hire an outsider? You’d rather pay someone else for that?”
Dylan gave him a sidelong glance. “Can you get it done in 24 hours?”
Victor hesitated. “Alright, maybe not. But T’s different–she can track down anyone, especially for a case like this.”
Victor grumbled and pulled out his phone to send a message, then paused and looked up at Dylan.
“Wait, don’t you have her on messenger? Just message her yourself. That way, you can negotiate directly.”
Dylan muttered, “Stop rambling.”
If she hadn’t blocked him, he wouldn’t need the help.
Suzy had just left the hospital, heading toward the precinct Allen had mentioned, when Victor’s message came through.
The crash site had conveniently lacked any surveillance, and Diana’s dashcam had no footage–none of it added up. Suzy suspected the dashcam might have been tampered with and wanted to investigate it herself.
Seeing Victor’s message that Dylan was asking for her help in finding the culprit, her eyes narrowed slightly.
A moment later, she pocketed her phone without responding.
The precinct was close enough to reach on foot, and she arrived shortly after.

Since she wasn’t a public official, she couldn’t just access the accident vehicle, but she planned to discreetly gather some information.
In the women’s restroom, Suzy hid in the farthest stall, listening intently to the chatter of officers as they discussed the incident.
“Based on years of experience, this is definitely a premeditated murder. It’s not just about the extent of damage to the car–it’s also because…”
